It looks like Versus is now NBC sports and isn't offering the "Tour Tracker" this year?
The closest thing I can find is subscribing to cycling.tv. http://www.cycling.tv/HomePage.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=20300

Does anybody know if there will be a tour tracker offer anywhere this year?

Using iPhone? The Fredcast raved about one that was like $10 for last year.
    I don't use an iPhone so I don't know.

Maybe we start a new thread for the race....

Stage 1 starts wih a BANG. I sure hope the rest of the Tour is as exciting! Gilbert takes the stage as expected. Cadel pulls the best move of the day finishing second and way ahead of Contador, Schleck and Wiggins who got caugh behind the crashes. What a stage !

3KM rule saves the day for Andy! He would have been a minute and half back on Cuddles and a few other potential GC contenders but it looks like he will be saved by the 3KM rule. 33. Andy Schleck, Team Leopard-Trek, at 00:06
    82. Alberto Contador, Saxo Bank Sungard, at 01:20

Ouch 80 seconds is a long time to make up. Then again the TdF is a long race. Things definitely got off to an interesting start. Kind of suck all this happened because a kid on the side of the road wasn't looking and got hit by an Astana rider.

Even with the second crash they still would of put 40+ seconds into AC. Cadel or Schleck will never have a better opportunity.

Why is it that on the TdF the folks have to stand in the road?

Chris Horner still is in it and I seriously think he can win it. If he gets enough time into Kloden and Levi he'll be the one they work for. Only problem is I don't know if his TT is good enough.

I just went on FB and 'unliked' Cyclingnews. Took a bit to find how to do it but at least now I won't accidentally see the results.

I like to watch it without knowing who did what but I still watch even if I know what happens.

Liz what climbs did you do on your last visit that they are going to do this year?

We didn't do any of the big ones this year. We were on one because it I saw that it was signed but I don't know if it was a cat. 3 or 4. Not a 1 or 2 for sure.
I just checked and it wasn't a cat. anything. Just checked again and it wasn't even a Tour climb. It's a road they close to cars just so cyclists can enjoy a day on it safely. Must be rough to be a cyclist in France!

Ive actually done Alpe d'Huez and the Col de Telegraphe/Galibier double and neither is as hard as stuff in the Eastern Sierras.

The biggest difference between Alpe d'Huez, Galibier and Telegraphe is that you refer to them by name and the Eastern Sierra's are referred to as the Eastern Sierra's.
If you love cycling and the romance of the Tour then any road you are on that the Tour has been on is exciting. IMHO! :)

I've raced road bikes for many years and have been following pro racing for just as many. I was actually AT the 1999 Tour De France when Armstrong won his first, yes before everyone hopped on the bandwagon. I'll still take my California Sierras over anything else on the planet.

No, I can't name them. I can't name half the guys in the peloton then or now but I still like the racing.
I wasn't challenging you, I was stating my opinion.
Personally, I would take the Galibier and the Telegraph over any Cali climb any day but I like a nice espresso and a baguette after a good Euro climb.

I don't care who these guys are or if you liked bike riding before Lance, but it is good and interesting to learn that the Eastern Sierra's are tougher and pretty rides. I still want to ride Alpe d'Huez, Ventoux and part of Paris Roubaix and perhaps parts of Beligium and France before I die. Lots of history there. It's not about the elevation profile, mileage, etc. for me.

Plus, the Eastern Sierra's don't have the greatest cyclists in the world flying up at full speed. Even an easy climb can put you at your limit if you go hard enough.
