I'll be in on this one. The last one got me on a health kick and I went from 230 to 165, where I am now. Id like to lose a couple more.
Prizes are defiantly the best incentive.

I'm in. Not to win a prize, but to make my ass lighter in the saddle. Want to drop from 198 to the 170 - 175 range. Live in South OC, work out at LA Fitness in Lake Forest and ride local trails; mostly weekends; will start to ride at least 2 evening nights once lights are no longer required. PM me if interested in getting into shape with me.

    Great idea Dino!

Though, I won't be participating since I don't need to lose weight, it is hard enough to maintain my current weight. But that probably isn't a bad thing.

To whoever is participating, I'll be pigging out for you

That is what I was thinking about. People talk about how it is hard to lose weight, for some of us, it is hard to even maintain our weight especially when cycling 175+ miles a week.

I think I'll join just to support. Here are some things that have worked for me, YMMV

Weight lost tip #1 got me down 4lbs in this past week (155-151lbs).
#1 Eat a bunch of fruits. They are filling, healthy, and the with all the fiber you can flush away those pounds fast...literally!
#2 Riding long burns fat, riding hard creates muscle. Going long and pacing yourself keeps you running anarobic, burning fat as the primary source of energy. Riding hard uses muscle glycogen as the primary fuel, so after a hard ride my weight remains about the same after replenishing.
#3 Believe in yourself! I have no idea how this placebo works, but there was a scientific study (I'd have to dig it up) that believing that the workout you are doing is working creates a more effective workout, giving you faster results.

    GO TEAM STR!

    I'll throw down 10 bucks.

In. I just took 4 lbs off my bike frame and it was awesome. I can only imagine what more off my body frame would feel like!
    $10 yes.
    Suggestion:
    • Weekly weigh in to keep it on the front burner...Wednesday Weigh-in Day!
At the end, let's have a fiesta (with healthy foods from the STR chef-squad). I should have my copy of Follow-Me by then and I have a big projector screen and LCD projector. We could even do it at a park in the early evening BBQ style (low fat/hi phat).
