Just read the news a few minutes ago... Very sad!

Seemed like a pretty cool guy! Demanded respect when he was on the ice!

Cool pic... Shows he had a sense of humor!

    With regard to the Playoffs:

    1. My condolonces go out to Guero (his Flyers lost)
    2. I wasn't surprised that Tampa Bay beat the Capitals- I was surprised how easily they beat them!
    3. Boston.... Ehhh, not a fan!

    4. The Sharks should be embarrassed.
Guess it doesn't matter (they won the series), how can one franchise come sooo close to choking so many times? Is it the players? The coaches? The system? Does NoCal soften them up (i.e. too comfortable of a lifestyle)? Every year... Same ole' stuff!

    5. Really disappointed with the Blackhawks for going down 2-0. Knew they would make it to 6+ games!
Vancouver and San Jose players must be drinking the same water (choke artists)
If Loungo doesn't play well this series, he should go on vacation for 3 months (the fans will hate him)
    Soooo much talent....

    6. Who am I rooting for?
I want Tampa Bay to beat Boston!
Big fan of Tampa's team. My Mom is from Clearwater/Tampa!

Out of the west, I "guess" I am rooting for Vancouver.
-Not a fan of NoCal teams
-Looking forward to the "what's san jose gonna do in 2011/12...." talk (happens every year)
-If the Canucks win, I am looking forward to the "annoying" texts Anne (from Vancouver Canada) will send me!

Best case scenario: Tampa defeats Vancouver in 7 Games (Quadruple Overtime)

    FUNNY/SAD: #-o #-o #-o
I do "NOT* have Versus at home. I *DO* have the Hockey Channel...
I have been watching the games.
If I want to watch the games- which I do, I have (2) options:
***Watch a 1am-3am replay of HC's Game of the Night
***Wait until the following morning to DVR the games... Watch them one-two days later!
(loses the effect knowing I watched the Hockey Channel highlights of the games the night before)
*I've been watching a lot of 1am-3am games... I'm more tired than the players!

    Oh well...

Vancouver is bunch of SCUMBAG's. To have that much talent on a team and to bite (Burrow's) and take players out with headshots (Rome) is unacceptable. I just became a fan of whoever plays Vancouver. Take it to them Boston!

I've been watching the NBA and the NHL Playoffs....
I do realize they are two different games, it boggles my mind how much more EFFORT hockey players put into each game, than their NBA counterparts. Complete effort every shift. Taking the body in order to clear a puck. Diving in order to clear the puck from the zone. High-speed collisions. Playing just as hard in the first period as in overtime. Playing with broken bones. It's crazy! (nba players take plays off)

Sorry... not easy to root for the Canucks!
Western Conference rivals. They have a few TOOLS on the team. They have been playing (borderline) dirty. Even though they have been hitting anything that moves, I still think they have a bunch of soft players on the team. Biggest reason I have a problem with Vancouver winning it all: Anne (NoEndos) is a Vancouver native. I won't hear the end of it!

Luongo has been playing at such a high level...
I'd be curious to see how Game 3's beatdown effects his (his team's) confidence!

If Boston loses the series, they should review tape from Game 1 and 2!
    Power Play let them down!

Wow... Someone's gonna have a talk with THE LEAGUE!

Predictions: 1) Rome will be suspended 2) He'd better start worrying about PAYBACK (upcoming season) 3) He will be placed on Dino's "I hate that guy" list

Wow, that was a nasty hit. He'll be suspended. I was rooting for Boston anyway so I hope they hammer them again in Game 4.

This is an addendum to my post from last night. I was a little hot around the collar when I wrote it. Not the whole Canuck team is on my S list. Just two players. Example one was pointed out by the versus commentator when Manny chipped one onto the Bruins bench and immediately apologized. On another note the fact that that guy is even playing after that eye injury is amazing. I thought that was a career ender. My final thought to leave you with is my slight disappoinent with how this series is further portraying that hockey is just a sport of violence. This finals series has been really physical (Which I expect), but I had the opportunity to watch game two with non hockey fans and to hear how they perceive the game really made me think. We finally get nationally broadcasted to a wide audience and to hear non fans speak so negatively about the game made me realize the NHL has its work cut out in order to grow.

Not a Boston fan, but I'm a fan of how they play the game & I'm glad they took it to Vancouver. To me it seems like Rome's hit on Horton was a pivotal point in the series. And to further back up my disdain for the Vancouver organization, the booing of Tim Thomas as he received the Conn Smythe was disappointing. Way to help grow your sport Vancouver.

^^^^Actually, they were booing Gary Bettman, and there is no shame in that at all. They cheered Tim Thomas when he skated a lap with the cup.

Booing Gary Bettman is an annual event now. For that reason I think it should be the captain of last year's Stanley Cup winner should hand it off to the current year winner. Not Bettman. The losing team can body slam him for all I care.

As far as riots go that was pretty lame. Unfortunately that stuff happens far too often there due to a small number of trouble-makers who simply want to cause havoc at any event...Olympics, G-8 summit, UN stuff, hockey playoffs etc. They have no purpose but chaos. Then all the sheep follow. IMO putting away the rubber bullets and taking some of those assholes out would stop this problem in its tracks.
