It was something I had to get used to as well. I was enjoying the Euro/UK 4X format for years so the switch to racing a clock to, er', race, was new to me. It's not bad, just different. The point is, pin it in that qualifying run. You've got the whole track so use the smoothest lines.

So exactly how are they going to keep ALL DH racers from practicing at the same time?? (this may be how it is for every national - but it's my 1st - so i'm asking)

XC sport looks like 3 laps. I found this on geoladders, ~6 miles and 750' per lap according to this (if all XC riders uses same course)

The reason for this is because the #s are so big we are concerned about traffic on the course so we are doing what we think works best.

Very sorry you feel this way? Absolutly not true, i think we have made a very big effort to treat everyone with much respect? We only have so much time to address all needs.

Hope to see you there, if not you missed a great time.

    Wait

I think his question is legit.....

    Question for TEAM SHO-AIR:
If the beginners and sport racers are only practing for 1 day and racing and practing for the 2nd then why are we paying for 3 days of shuttle???

*please understand - we are not trying to make waves, just trying to justify coming out to race and paying fee's when many of us are counting our pennies :)

Hey you know what, i dont have much say with regards to the Gravity side, however i agree completely with you, i think the charge should be adjusted for the cat 2/3 riders, if they dont have as much use, then they should not pay the same fee. maybe $10 bucks or even $7.50, it should be pro-rated against the Cat 1/Pro practice use. I will call Donny today and let him know how i feel.

Dont get me wrong everyone, i have thick skin and welcome and need the feedback, i just respond much better to positive requests then negative statements. I will bend over front and back to try to make it right for all, lets just keep it positive and on two wheels

This is not directed towards the XC side but the gravity side. I get there is a time issue but to have significantly more DH practice time for the pro/ex makes no sense and to charge for a shuttle day that you cant use points clearly in that direction. I get the pro/ex have 3 days to practice as the beg/sport riders have two so there are more opportunities for practice time but the first day and day before the race for beg/sport the pro/ex have 3 hours of practice and beg/sport have 2 hours. I thought maybe there are more pro/ex riders but in previous races the beg/sport has had more in the first 3 races (i stopped looking when it was 10-20% difference in first 3).

Am I saying we need more then the pro/ex no but at least try to make it even. Plus where is the money made, the beg/sport/ex categories. You keep 100% of that money where the Pros you keep 50%.

Dont take this an attack but more what some of us are seeing from our side of the table.

I talked with Donny and he says he agrees that this is not fair, so he is adjusting the cost for the cat 2 and 3 riders to $5.00 per day for your suttle. Hope that is good for you, i think its very cool.

By the way, nobody and i mean nobody is getting rich from running these races, in fact i can really say it is more for the love of the sport becuase there just isnt that much money in it and actually if they had to pay for all of the labor that is mostly made up of vollantiers they would not make a dime.

So good suggestion, and you got some action from it, so get your butt out there and lets have some fun:bang:

    Heads up.

I pre-rode the course today and they were putting up gates to cut access to the back-side of the course where the new climb/single track was added. (XC course.)

    ????

    Cheers,

    C.K.

The team thing is the way to go.

I was on a team but they never payed for anything. We did get discounts from our sponsors, but none of us were ever fast enough to get stuff for free.
