    That kicks ass!
I was 99.9% doing the VQ with Joser but since you are signing up for the CC...that could be fun too:beer:

I think the bigger choice is what bike:-k

For those of us not studly enough to ride CC or VQ, can we volunteer at the event? Maybe a WS member wants to post something seperately about that if volunteers are needed. I'd be down to help however I can and encourage folks as they come by...

...and by encourage, I mean shoot a water gun at STR riders. Water balloons will be launched at J_sims and ShinKen. Incoming! :D

I hope to do CC if my arm is strong enough for the singletrack descents.

Sam, that's awesome. I think the Warrior's Society is always looking for volunteers for aid stations or to help check off the racers that go by the check points.

It is always great when you are in full suffer mode to have a buddy cheer you on or someone call out your name! It really provides an awesome boost. OMR did that for me at the top of Upper Holy Jim in this year's CC!!

    VQ for me.
Gunning for a good result. Last year I had to..ahem...take a nature break that lasted quite awhile(20 minutes). Not to mention I was wearing way too much gear, and hadn't previously rode or pre rode the course.
Without those and a couple of small stops I'm aiming for a sub 6hr time. Last years was 6.22#-o

I was thinking CX, SS or HT....SS should be back by then:mad:, I hope. I know the HT would be an excellent and speedy choice but the challenge of running 700x32's on the CX rig is too tempting!

Why hasn't Nam signed in yet?????

You'd have to call it the "Counting Coup BEGINNER/NEWB ride" for Nam to sign up :)

1X1, you need to ride the Yeti. So I can watch you climb the entire course in your 44T big ring.

i did that the last two years. i was at the first check in station at the bottom of the motorway. it is a trip to see how stoked you get to see your friends come in, knowing how far they've ridden, and knowing how much more riding they have ahead of them. im not sure how much help i really was, but i think it was probably cool for them to see a familiar face along their journey.

as far as supplies. i brought a floor pump, a few extra tubes and that is about it. i think i had zip ties and duct tape as well. the warriors society provides all kinds of nutrition and hydration products at the station. oh yeah, i also brought a camera to snap lots of pix.

lastly, dress warm, it is freezing when you are just standing there waiting for people to come in.

this year, i'll be a bubb coming down the motorway, hoping to see a familiar face for support at the station.

Thinking about doing the CX thing for CC or VQ, but the descents down motorway and trabuco might be a little too crazy.

CC for me, I'm hoping to cut at least an hour off my time. Shouldn't be that much more of an effort considering I cruised it after the second cut off time for a finishing time of 9:23... at least thats what I'm tell myself.

 That's what I keep telling myself too

Have to admit that it was a blast volunteering, possibly just a tad more than riding it (especially when you get to 4x up the main divide).

I think Mandy used her CX bike last year, just bigger tires, a different handlebar, possibly a few other alterations--someone else here should know, I'm not mech inclined ;)
