We'd be in different age groups...#-o

I'd prefer to ride my SS than my geared bike for a race, that's all I was thinking. I may give it a go! Of course, I may need to be carried home afterwards.

I looked at the site and SS women is all ages, men are broken to 34 and less and 35+.

Hmmm I am thinking I could do 12 miles. So whats easier Beg Men or Clydesdale(I think I can gain 10 pounds:lol:)

Hmmm...beginner 12 miles on a geared bike is looking a lot more attractive than SS 18 miles...:-k

I'm just debating whether to do the sport men or singlespeed...but i'm leaning really heavily toward singlespeed. Anyone got a good reason to talk me out of it?

I'll make the call when i sign up tomorrow I guess. I had completely forgotten about this race somehow...now i'm stoked for it!

    Class discrepencies

Here's the response I got regarding the class discrepencies between the website and the registration site.

Go single. You'll be pushing up that last hill anyways. Might as well have a lighter bike.

I entered the beginner on my SS last year. It kinda sucked in spots - people wouldn't clear the course while they were pushing their bikes. People might be a little more aware in sport class.

I guess I'm saying SS in the middle of all the geared wasn't great - couldn't get a good flow going. The course was fine on SS (except the last hill).

    Need to borrow a bike

So, does anyone out there have an XC rig (Medium with 3 chainrings) that they would let me borrow for the race. :?: I sold my Spyder XC race bike (to buy my Foes 4x bike) so I only have my Tracer VP now and it's a tad bit heavy!!!! ;)

Forgot to mention, it needs to be Full Suspension with Disc brakes too!! I have a Zaskar HT at home with Vbrakes already!!! I'm just a tad too old and brittle to race that one!!!

You are welcomed to borrow the Niner but I think it's probably too small.

I raced Fontucky XC on the Yeti ;)

Yes, I think it would be a tad too small. And you are a much stronger climber than me!!! I need the weight savings. ;)

I've got a 17.5" Trek 8500 that you're welcome to use. It's old with an 80mm SID. About 23 lbs. or so. Let me know.
