At least they had it on camera so they could get a plate number. It looked completely intentional, or at least criminally negligent. Hope they are ok.

I think I would have left the part where they ran a stop sign .I am not sure it was intentional , I would guess it was distracted driver.

I don't see how a person can go that far into a bike lane, when there just so happens to be riders, and be considered an accident. Looks intentional in my opinion. Glad they're ok though. I hate to watch stuff like this

THAT was ADW! The police most likely won't do anything because both riders got up and appeared too be okay. They'll have too take the loss on any bike repair. However, if they can find out who the auto driver is, and where they live...no cops needed...s**t happens.

It ceases to be an accident when the driver drives off. I hope he gets nailed, just like the ER doctor. In the slow motion shows just another reason to wear a helmet.

Don't know if it was intentional or not, but it was a single-lane, one-way street that was pretty wide. When in slo-mo, you can see the angle that the car came into the bike lane and hit the guys. Actually around 3:15 you can see that the left rear wheel was on the white line -- essentially the entire car was in the bike lane. What the fack was that stupid focker doing?

I hope that you are on the sidewalk when you ride against traffic.

Texting, playing with radio, whatever. Looks like a slight bend to the left, guy was going to fast, not paying attention and drifted over.

I'm not going to tell the guy not to do something that makes him feel safer, but it's not legal. I also think it's more dangerous, but can't remember where i saw the study.

Stop racial profiling! I didn't see a coffee-can-sized Greddy Exhaust, turbo boost gauges, or a Hello Kitty doll on the dashboard! Geez...it could have been a Mexican falling asleep at the wheel for all you know!

Luckily in Orange County we have a lot of off-street options. The Santa Ana River Trail, The Back Bay/Mountain to Sea Trail, the stuff in and around Irvine/Tustin, and even the beach trail (though it is a PITA between HB Pier and the Dog Park). That is where I spend most of my time "road" riding.

I appreciate riding the road now because it's more dangerous than mtn biking and I enjoy the thrill. The scariest moment I'd had on the trail were when 3 druggies, walking with big sticks, were on the trail and I assumed that they'd be cool enough to let me pass. I got such an adrenaline rush after passing them and giving it a second thought, noting how lucky I was, feeling totally relieved that they didn't beat me down and rob me of my bike and belongings for drug money; I bet they are regretting not taking advantage of that situation.

A good way to scare people into staying in the safety of their home is to post these kinds of things.

JKing, BTW. :D Watch out for those armed druggies and scary drivers and try to have fun!

Not only is it a crime to hit the cyclist, it is a crime to witness the incident and continue moving on without rendering aid or reporting it.

Its not just the car who hit them, its the car behind them who witnessed it, and the one behind that. Any of those cars pleading "I didn't see it" is full of $#*!
