Who else is doing this race next weekend?

It will be my first race, so I'm pretty excited.

We'll be there, though I'm not sure if I'm racing (I'm healing a sprained MCL and swelling on the nerve). Did you register already? What time is your race? We'll try to get out there to cheer you on. :)

That is too bad, hope everything heals up quickly.

I just registered this morning. My race is the first one, at 7:30 am. Only thing I'm not looking forward to is having to get up at about 4:45 to leave my house at 5 am.

    Go get 'em, Jon!

What about San Luis Rey? I haven't signed up but I will this evening. Wanted to do Idyllwild Challenge instead but found out that I'm too rusty on the MTB. :( Need a lot of work.

Thanks...I'm pretty sure I'm in for the San Luis Rey also. Haven't signed up yet, but probably will tonight also.

The thing you have to watch out about the barrio logan course is that it is super technical. This is a course you don't want to be in the back of the pack. With all the turns and short uphills and downhills there is a lot of accelerating going on and you will get shot off the back if you are not ready for. It is a fun course though and racing that early in the day you gêt the extra bonus of the homeless people still sleeping on the sidewalk along the race course

Thanks for the tips. I have no intention staying in the back of the pack if I can help it. I'm going to try and be in the first 10 or so to try and stay away from any crashes. Then depending on the course and how the race is going, I'm going to try and attack with a lap or two to go.

Thanks, I forgot to ask some of the photographers for their website, unfortunately, you only got one picture of me and I'm in the background.

Do you know any other photographers websites that were shooting there?

Also when will your San Luis Rey photo's be uploaded?

It was fun, though I liked the road race I did on Sunday better. I just wish there was more of them throughout the year.

Thanks for the tips! My goals were to stay with the pack and regain comfort in turns (after the crash in Torrance). My confidence was shot a bit at the start when, in the first turn, I spotted the girl who had slammed her brakes in the corner at Torrance--I did not want to be behind her, for mental reasons. So, I hung in the back, for the most part. Luckily, the pace was steady with attacks in the predicatable areas (the incline).

The race was uneventful (woohoo!), though I did find it difficult to move around the pack with so many corners. It was great practice for Long Beach though :)

Anyone else doing Long Beach and/or Paramount? Bakersfield and Sisquoc are coming up, too--road races.

BTW, thanks for the extreme pics-I even found myself :) Jon, I'm telling you, the key tip to a good pic is to drop off the back, or you could attack, I guess ;)
