^ Right. Feels more 'compact' as a result of being shorter. Everything feels a bit shorter -- short, steep climbs, short downhill ST, etc. None of the ST seemed to be nearly as technical as HC, though if you're not careful you could lose it in loose sand at the edges.

Depends on what Hurkey Creek loop you are referring to. If you are talking the 24 hour race then Hurkey has much more wide open sections. The trails are narrow up at rim nordic and it takes more concentration. Nothing is super technical but if we run off line 18 inchs there's a good chance your going down or into a tree.

The dirt is also softer at RN and there are a handful of switchbacks that are a bit tricky in said soft dirt. I agree with shud about the "compactness" also. Some of the climbs are a bit steep, but they are short. Those are mostly at the beginning of the course; switchbacks are intermittent throughout.

Oh yeah, and if you're like me, you'll learn fairly quick that legs and lungs don't work the same at 7,000 feet as they do at sea level. #-o

Here is another item that will be going on during the race and is a great cause. I hope you all don't mind me posting this but it is important!!

"Project Pink at 12hrs at Nordic will be raising funds for breast cancer research and prevention. Project Pink bikes will be available for demo at the event, a portion all pink sales will go to Susan G Komen foundation. Donations at Nordic will also go to Time For A Cure foundation. We will be presenting a custom Project Pink Rouge during this event in honor of a survivor and all the women survivors and families affected by breast cancer.

This project Pink was built for Michelle Perry a three year survivor it will have her name and cancer ribbon etched on the top tube of the frame.

The Custom Pink down Hill Rouge will be raced in honor of the survivors and families and to bring awareness of breast cancer to the communities it is raced in.
Come out in support of our women, food raffles demo bikes all for a great cause hope to see you their!"
    Thanks everyone!!!!!
