Either way, I'm sure he'll start crying at some point.

I really don't think so. It's on Vs which is now part of Comcast/NBC. IF they throw in some weekend special on a major network. it will be on NBC.

Any bets on first one caught doping?

I'd like to see Andy Schleck win but don't think he has the TT to pull it off. Watching him and AC in climbs should be the highlight of the Tour.

Cadel has a little bit better team behind him than he has in the past but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Wiggins will be fun to watch but will get dropped in the Mountains again.

Anyone but AC would make me happy.

    Another opinion

    JEAN-FRANÇOIS PESCHEUX’S ANALYSIS : A change of custom

“It has been a kind of tradition since 1967 that the Tour starts with a prologue. But, as in 2008, we will start with a road stage. We wanted to shake up the teams’ plans a little bit and change the way they operate. Only 10 riders can realistically contend for victory in a prologue. But each one of the 198 riders could win this stage and pull on the yellow jersey. Three years ago, the race started in Brittany, and this time we’re starting in the Vendée. The route will follow the coast before turning inland towards Les Herbiers and the Mont des Alouettes. This is not an ‘hors catégorie’ test, but even so it’s a finish for the strong men. The pure sprinters will struggle. It will suit someone like Thor Hushovd or a puncheur like Thomas Voeckler.”

Dude, big difference, though. Cadel cries because he's sad and can't handle it, and Cav cries because of joy.

The Col du Galibier will be climbed twice in two days (7/21 and 7/22) finishing with Alpe d'Huez. Oh the pain! Pick your best climber and look for dopers to gamble they won't get caught.

i think this is more like the FIFA world cup of cycling. the super bowl of cycling is the UCI DH World Champs.

Word is the French Police are searching all team cars today.
And here's a tip - don't try to ship your drugs from Australia into Belgium.

Are you serious? Pro cycling has 1000X the viewers of what a DH world cup would draw. True, I prefer to watch DH action but world wide they'll watch this more. This is the Super Bowl of cycling. DH racing doesn't draw a 1/1000th what the Tours draw.

More people watch the FIFA world cup final than the superbowl. Also, football is more "hardcore" so the DH parallel works again.

In the end, I love watching both...

    My predictions:
I loath Cantador... but the fact is; he's going to crush all comers, it's not even going to be close.
I'd love to see Chris Horner do well, but my hunch is that his talents will be wasted trying to breath life into Levi.
Levi will likely manage another top ten somehow without actually ever riding in the wind (excepting the TT's).
Andy Schleck will undoubtedly come to life for the Tour, but I doubt it'll be enough to seriously challenge AC day in and day out.
Cadel Evans is a real wild card. I predict it'll be a top 3 finish or a DNF for Cadel.

My hope is that Horner is allowed to escape from the shadows of Levi and is able to go toe-to-toe with AC.

After 58 minutes of play some team is always running a month-long two minute drill, with passes to the sidelines and endless commercials and time-outs.

I think comparing the Tour with the Superbowl is not fair at all. There is WAY WAY more doping in the NFL than there is in cycling.......
