I'm slightly behind last years totals. Today on the club ride I broke 1,000. Last year was 7326 miles total.
I told myself I wouldn't worry about miles this year and instead concentrate on getting rides in. My goal was two rides a week for the entire year. I completed ride number 17 on Wednesday. It's gonna get tough when the mercury starts topping 100!
I like the heat and go out most everyday regardless of how hot. But when the mercury drops into the low 40's, it's real hard to motivate me. Todays ride was 48 and I honestly enjoyed it. Plus with this thick marine layer we were very wet. It didn't bother most of us though because we had some good size hills. This month time changes back, so we will get some more riding time in the daylight. I'm hoping for 4 rides a week, but I'll probably only get 3. I do count the Fully social hour as a ride though.
I'm counting any ride over an 1 hour and I've also included the 4 hour sessions at Fontana. (I think 4 or 5 blasts down a 4x couse beat me up more than an hour XC ride sometimes.) I don't mind the heat but I'll be working in it and when it gets up there sometimes all I want is AC to come home to! I've actually found that I ride better in the heat, just have to remember the water.
