MOAB - What to expect on your first visit?

+1 to that. Slickrock is an experience for sure, but you can get that same experience in a lot less time on the Slickrock practice loop and then get a better ride in elsewhere. J's list is similar to my own, though I think climbing Poison Spider sucks (jeep trail). I would access Portal from...

    1x10 questions

There was a time when I was strong enough to push that combo. I miss those days... In fact I am probably going to ditch the 40T when it wears out and go back to a stock cassette. It will save $$ and force me to get stronger again. These days I sit and spin and never seem to get in better...

Looking For: 27.5 front wheel with 9mm QR

You should be able to use almost any wheel, just get the adaptors from 15mm or 20mm to 9mm if you get your hands on a thru-axle wheel. I have these for my main MTB so I can use the wheel on my commuter bike if need be.

    Riding Vancouver island BC

There is some good riding in Victoria and just to the north - Hartland Dump, Cobble Hill, Mt Tzou. Steve Smiths segment in Seasons was on Mt Prevost. I don't know that these would be great for a SS though you would probably have more fun on a full suspension. A lot of the rides used to be...

    Noble Canyon Downhill

Looks like a good time! FWIW, the photo you labelled "part of Widow maker" is not, it is Barney Rubble (long chunky/rubbly section). Widow maker is not on the main trail anymore, the ranger re-established the original line which goes just above it. Since this is now the more obvious line...

    Moving to Tucson area...

I've ridden in tucson a lot. Riding is good enough we head there for vacation once or twice a year, so that says something. Plenty of trail systems. The Arizona trail both south and north of town is great. In summer head up mt Lemmon to 9000ft. There are 5-6 ways to descend off Lennon...
