    Sram PG980 Cassette

Isn't the 980 like the 970 where all the cogs are just pinned together? For the money on 9 spd stuff these days, there is no reason to not get a 990, which has most of the cogs on a spider(ala Shimano XT).

With the amount of hikers in Peters Canyon.....you shouldn't be bombing down any of the hills there.

New Year Day Ride @ The Luge followed by my Yuneec Typhoon 4K Drone

All good. Just seems like it would do a better job of keeping you on view. At least all the promos that showed something similar did. Maybe if the trail wasn't so twisty/turny it may have been different. IDK, I'm not up to date on drones and POV cams. Is this something that it just...

New Year Day Ride @ The Luge followed by my Yuneec Typhoon 4K Drone

Sorry, but we just spent 2.5 minutes watching the side of a mountain, with an occasional view of the trail, and even less view of the riders. I'd be pretty disappointed if I spent the money on that and that was the result. Hopefully, it is just a setting that needs adjusting.

    Santiago Oaks Trailwork

It used to be soooo much more dangerous before they put the curb there.....it used to just be an asphalt hump that you could just boost off of.....problem was at those speeds going into a blind jump.....there was no way to see riders/hikers/horses coming up until it was too late. The curb is...

    Holy Jim Auto Breakins

This is nothing new....happened to us several years back. I refuse to park there anymore. Even OC Sheriff was aware of it happening alot, so we were told.

Wheel build. What's it normally cost in SoCal?

Learn to do it yourself....it's free. I've generally heard $45-$70 per wheel labor.

    2016 Highball review

I've been thrashing on a Highball Al for the last 3 years....the first 2 years on the original frame, and the last 6 months on the new frame. Does it all....and pretty damn well. Would have loved to go carbon....but they refused to put the SS dropout on that frame.

The only trail in Whiting that is 1-Way is Borrego....all other trails....which are considered Multi Purpose and bi-directional.

    Long Fingered Gloves

I always did gloves like the Fox Inclines.....no padding, no rubber knuckle protection. Look at the minimalistic mtn bike gloves. Once it starts to get colder out, I go to fleece style cold out gloves.

    1x10 questions

If you are consistantly climbing in 22/36.....perhaps 1x is not for you. 24t up front is not a usable ring for all around riding....you will spin it out waay too fast on the flats, and it will be useless on the DH's. recommend 28t/30t with a 42t Add-a-Cog to your existing drivetrain. After...

New to the trade, tons of questions!

Here is one of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to bikes.....truth be told that at the end of the day, bicycles are just very simple basic machines. Some things take some skill, some take a bit more knowledge....but for the most part a circus bear could do most of the work on a bike...
