    Hi,
I am going to be staying in Irvine on business Sept 12-16 and thought I would arrive a few days early to hit some trails on the 9-11
The only bike shop I am familiar with is the Path in Tustin, I've stopped in to purchase some gear in the past
Any suggestions on trails to ride would be great. Instead of brining my bike I might just rent one from the Path.I am coming from Austin where there is a lot of rock and technical stuff.
    Thank you

Santiago Oaks which is close to The Path in Tustin; The Luge which is close to The Path on Live Oak. Plenty of info around on both areas.

+1 on Oaks. Aliso Woods isn't that far from Irvine too.

    Have a great ride!!

So you are used to riding in HOT weather! Welcome back to CALI! If you are up for a challenge do the double loop for Whiting + STT + The Luge. :)
Santiago Oaks is fun also. Have you tried the android app called MTB Project? There are a ton of trails for SoCal listed by geo-location.

I watched a couple videos of The Luge and I was out of breath just watching the climb. I think I am going to do that on Saturday morning Sept 10. If anyone is riding it that day or nearby hit me up. Thanks Also curious to know what the thoughts are on Santa Cruz Hightower 27.5+ for the Luge?? I am use to a 29er but would really like to see what this Hightower is like since I've heard so much about them.

@Unbreakable - As I said on another forum, I think the Hightower will be awesome. I am hoping to join you for a Whiting-Luge-Whiting run this Saturday, if I get my wheel back from Stans in time.

@Unbreakable... Fun to ride with you and the other 5 on W-L-W last Saturday. Sorry 'bout your little get-off, and glad you didn't get hurt. Waiting for the video footage. Like we discussed elsewhere, I think the tire pressure in plus-sized tires is critical - 1 or 2 psi too much and you have a pogo stick. 1 or 2 psi too little and you have a mushy, squirming, folding-over mess. Otherwise you seemed to really enjoy the Hightower!

More likely to get a response at IMTBTrails.com. Not that I want people to stop trying here, just reflecting reality.

Oh, and I cannot ride June 30. Maybe July 1.

I'm working on it. Give me a little time and I hope to get members back active again. Just don't give up on me now and start spamming the other forum. :(

I am not trying to prevent this site from reinvigorating itself, but I see people post stuff here and not get any response for weeks. That's when I gently steer them to an active site that might fill their immediate needs. I am not sure what you mean about Spamming the other forum. I've been active on IMTB since STR collapsed in 2014.

Best wishes. I am not sure what your goal is, and what your strategy is to get there. I used to enjoy that STR was local and we would eventually meet with, ride with, exchange advice with and have a laugh with each other. I still have my SoCal TrailRiders sticker on my bike rack, but I am not nostalgic for those days. I maintain riding relationships with many from STR.

Perhaps it would help if people like @Unbreakable received any kind of response. BTW, he did go to the other forum and several riders lined up a ride with him. He wasn't able to make it after all, but the ride happened anyway.

I do appreciate that you welcome new members.

    Again, wishing you the best.
