Had a great time in goose. Followed your directions and found the extra credit HAB easily. We ended up dropping it and following it back around the hill where we started and out to the fire road above where we started the HAB. Is this the right way to do it?
After that went down the fire road- found the true downhillish descent and continued out to the cemetery....

Hi Russ. If you know where the main Grafton trail is, finding the alternate route is fairly simple.

After a mile or so on the main trail, you'll hit a fireroad which you normally turn left onto and follow for a while before rejoining the Grafton trail. To access the alternate line, turn right on the fireroad instead and backtrack a short distance. Keep an eye out on the left for a trail. When you're at the right spot, you should be looking at a steep rise which this new trail climbs up and to the right. This is the HAB. Near the top it circles back to the left to the peak. Drop your saddles here and let 'er rip. The alternate line rejoins the main trail right where it drops off the back of the mesa. From here it's the standard route to the end.

Let me know if you need more specific directions, I'll gather some Google Earth points or something. Do you have a shuttle planned? The climb out is nasty.
