Hey Nerdsie... I like your taste in grips... Sweet! I owe you a big "Thanks" for the laughter and humor.

That is awesome... and so true about paying for it out of the gates.. We have gone through several bikes for our son. And finally hunkered down and bought him a Demo7. Now we don't hear " I need a new bike anymore." HOWEVER... we do hear about upgrades. Hey, if he likes it and it keeps him relying on us for rides it is all good. In the mean time, Mom gets the shaft in the bike department.. someday I hope to be just like Nerdgirl...

No specific area, but I seemed to be drawn to the Cold War and how it affected life in the U.S., domestic life, civil liberties etc. Luckily for me I was able to write my senior project on the history of mountain biking related to trail access. So it was something that I was both interested in and had a vested stake in. Although, a female serial killer sounds interesting...

I'm 5'2 as well!!Yea for the shorties!I'm having a heck of a time finding a bike with a proper fit so I would LOVE to buy a woman specific bike and just roll out.My husband however is not crazy about that idea and it didn't help that the chick at the bike shop advised him against it. Grrrr... The search continues, I really just need to hop on some demo bikes and see what works. ;)

Hey, thanks for checking on that for me. I really like the Myka but I hesitate to buy a female specific only because of resale value.I'm also looking at the Trek Fuel EX 5 and an 08 EX7. The EX5 is pretty cheap considering, however some of the components would need upgrading for sure.Comes with a Rockshox Tora 289 fork. That would be the first to go, followed by the Sram x.5 rear derailleur.Other then that, it still seems like a good deal.Feel free to throw any other suggestions my way. I don't think we live to far apart so maybe we could ride sometime!

You sound like an interesting person.

The photos were of my friends, taken by me. I did manage to sack-up for that drop though the last time we rode ATT (about a month ago). Halloween Drop (as it's called) is scary the first time. Actually, there is a shot of me from 3/28 (number 6, yellow/blue shorts)

How much does your 2009 Myka weight? I'm looking for an AM bike because my DH bike weights 39 pounds!!This looks like a great bike and it sounds like your happy with yours. Welcome by the way!

Not really a historian, but I do have my B.A. in history and really enjoy many aspects of it.
