The meeting went well with a big turnout - the patio was packed. There is a dialogue ongoing with the Reserve at RMV. The hope that is if the illegal trails on Reserve land (M80 etc.) are repaired, Ladera Ridge will once again be open to us. There is a trail day currently scheduled for June 11... -

Vertical, horizontal, or upside down? My FS hangs on the wall horizontal. My hardtail hangs vertically from the back wheel. I don't think I would hang an FS upside down from the ceiling, but that's based more on a feeling than actual facts. It might be fine, and it might even be better because...- BigTex

I'll be there tomorrow night. If anyone does speak to anyone from RMV and they mention critical habitat, feel free to remind them that RMV built a road through that habitat (what eventually became the trail) to begin with. -

I'm pretty sure you can expect more trails - if they ever materialize - like the Sendero Loop trails, which are *&^$ worthless. Stupid steep and unsustainable. -

I should also add that it wasn't used just by mountain bikers, but a lot of hikers and runners as well. I've seen the Tesoro cross country team training on the trail as well. -

I rode it from every direction. Sometimes a quick loop through the middle of Ladera or the West Ridge, up the fireroad behind the power station and across to Oso. Sometimes up Firehose then across to Oso. Sometimes coming back on Tijeras Creek, up Meandering Trail (street), then up from Oso... -

Heh. My standard joke is they put a Bobcat in neutral and let it roll downhill to make the east trail.... The west trail is somewhat rideable up, but just barely. -

Yep, that sounds like me. I was having a great ride, too, until I cut my sidewall. Fortunately I was close to a road where I could get some SAG support (i.e. my wife). We're not far off in philosophy - I have no problem with new trails, authorized or not, as long as people are smart about it... -

The price of poaching
Pendleton is initiating a registration process. Nearly gone are the days when you could access the base just by showing a driver's license. That will be the same, but you have to have pre-registered first, and the registration is good for a year. As for the Miramar riders, a quick internet...- BigTex
