Saturday was a super hot 51 miles. Garmin Connect had a high of 105.8 degrees that day. We start at the fire station on Orangewood then headed inland to Gypsum Canyon. Our usual program is to head inland then back to the coast which leaves us a nice 1 mile return after we chill at the coast. It was hot! We turned around then head back to the coast and about half way my shoulders and arms started feeling fatigued. I thought maybe I was sick and didn't know it ha ha! Once we got to the coast the other riders were all red in the face and mentioned how tough the ride was today. It was hot and it there was a very stiff headwind. So I was pretty happy to see I was not the only one suffering ha ha! High of 105.8 and an average of 100 degrees. Sunday was much cooler. A high of 100 and an average of 90 degrees. Felt like winter ha ha ha! I was actually worried about making it on Sunday after Saturday's ride but the cooler temps made for a very enjoyable ride. We ran into Charlie and his wife at the coast and had a good friendly little chat. We headed out a little before they did so I was expecting them to catch us on their tandem. They did right before the wooden bridge at Edna Park. We were at the end of our ride (last 2 miles) so as they went around, we sat on their wheel for a bit and yes, I thanked him for the pull! I've seen Charlie at CHWP riding his MTB so I figure some of the riders here might know him. No music, just raw footage.
