I just sold the bike and fork that I had listed in the classifieds. And you know what I did then????
That's right, I DELETED the ads!!!

There are still ads on the site from 2011. Wasn't there supposed to be a system to keep it clean and current?

    Cheers!

No, it's up to each member to update or delete their ads. I have gone in and deleted duplicate ads, but I don't have time to go in a purged every ad.

Hey Gene, last time I used the classifieds, I sent in an email offering to pay for my ad, but never got a response, and my ad ran anyway.

I've got another huge heap of fancy crap to unload coming up. Is there somewhere I should make a pp donation, or is the site good on $ and we're just not worrying about it?

    Thanks!
    Man

Post your ad. Don't worry about the PP donation.

whut!! I just payed! Actually, I'm just kidding, not at all outraged, I couldn't be happier as my item sold - and then I deleted my ad.

On a related note, the old marketplace forum has been closed since 2008, might it be time to delete that whole section?

George would have to delete that forum or someone with code access. It's best to just ignore it or something else may stop working. Heck, most the avatars don't appear on the homepage.

Thanks to everyone, in advance, for deleting your old ads. (Guilty here of not doing that in the past.)

I inquired with one user here about an item for sale; he didn't even remember if he still had it, and never even bothered to let me know if he did, after he said he would. Triple lame, dood.

Thx, STR, for the free classifieds.

While we are beating ads... I get no end of amusement errrrr frustration at well crafted "My Bike is Awesome but For Sale" ads that don't include the size....

Rox, go as if you're gonna edit your ad, and it's the last choice (checkbox) above the Submit Changes button. Happy deleting :)

Go to your ad, click on "Product Option" in the 2nd row brown header.

This drop down will appear. Click on
    "Move/Delete"
