Here's my 1988 Toyota X-tra cab 4x4. I got this truck right out of high school and dumped tons of money into it and took it to truck shows in the early 1990's. It had 39" tires with a huge lift, targa top, dump bed, and crazy stereo system.
Then I tore it apart and rebuilt it as a trail truck until I started having kids and it sat for years. Ironically I just took this photo today so that I can list and sell it. I'm having a tough time letting it go but I need the cash.

    Is this what you mean?

OK, I know that's not what you had in mind, but I've had a couple of Audis that did some serious time in dirt, mud and snow getting my friends and me to trailheads and slopes. A good 4x system, some ground clearance, good tires and a way to haul your toys - that's all I need. Oh, that and a decent sound system. And lights - need great lights.

That 88 Toyota is awesome. I had an 87 single cab and it was by far the best truck I've ever owned. I miss it. Had some good times offroading in it.
