Not only is this guy handing a can of whoop azz he is doing it in what appears to be swim trunks and a half buttoned casual shirt! :bang:
Confirmed......12mm ID and 16.5mm OD. This goes for front and rear Fatsno hubs. This thread has now reminded me that I need to build wheels for my snow bike.....even though I won't be riding it for 8 months or soo..... BB
Alisooooooooo, should have put this here a while back
I loved that vid when I saw it on Facebook and I love it here! You guys were haulin'! Side note - Does Stan even ride his fatty anymore? I saw he got that new go fast speshy. Side note 2 - When are we going to start the SCFBBG? (SoCal Fat Bike Biker Gang) Side note 3 - We should take a trip down to San Onofre (Old Mans) I'm pretty sure we could ride up the beach, north, past Churches and get a killer beach ride in. Could you imagine the Strava junkies trying to figure out how to get a KOM on the beach? It would drive them INSANE!
the Beach ride thing sounds pretty fun, we need to find a nice day and bring long boards, fat bikes and fire wood. make a day of it. SCFBBG is already here... it is the SSFBBG, which is Super Secret Fat Bike Biker Gang, it is so secret, that you don't even know your in it!! Stan will be back, he just has a new toy, so he may be allocating his time more that direction now.
Well, I'm proud to report that I was the only fatbike on Rwanda. The announcer at the finish line proclaimed me the winner of the fatbike catagory which was pretty funny. Had so many people ask me about my bike. The most common question was how much my bike weighed, followed by how many PSI I run in the tires. Those however, are nothing compared to the comment of the day, and pretty much since I started hearing comments about the size of my tires-- As I dismounted to go through the gate from Tijeras to Arroyo, one rider looked at my bike and asked his buddy quietly if my bike was electric; the kicker was that his buddy said, "yeah, I think it is". I laughed my ass off at that one. It was fun to talk about the enjoyment of riding fat to people who asked. Tons of people asked to take pics too; hopefully some will pop up around here. I think I shocked a lot of dudes on their carbon fiber wonder bikes today; I did our fatbike fraternity proud. Fred- was awesome meeting you and talking bikes. I look forward to coming down and checking out the shop.
Dude, you rock! Thanks for posting that. Check out the meat on the front rim; first ride on the 120tpi 4.8 Bud. It's rolls great. There were two guys that took my pic when I was sitting there before the start; a tall guy that I think had something to do with the ride, and another guy that walked up to me and said smile. That's a cool pic. Where did you find it?
Hats off to the gentleman who rode the 50 miles on his fat bike. I rode back from Casper's on the ridge line with him.
bconneraz, awesome you did the 50 on the fatbike. Watching this thread and your and Steve C's comments... I'm thinking if I was gonna have a second bike it just might be a fatty. So, how much does it weigh, and how much PSI do you run? I think I already know how much you guys enjoy them!
While I'd love to take credit for doing the full 50, I did the 25 (29) mile option this go-around. Next year, it'll be the full 50. That'll be one heck of a ride. Someone asked what my time was on the ride; I did it in 2:52:58 according to Strava. Not too shabby. Thanks for the kudos; just want to make sure its for the right distance.
