Where is it. I generally stay away from performance but once in a while they do have decent sales on clothing.

I don't remember the name of the exit, but it is the first exit on the 91 east of the 15. I want to say it starts with an M.

I have been looking at some of their clothes in their outlet store online. Just waiting to go into the store and try on different sizes, make sure I know what fits and see what deals they have in there before ordering online.

Madison or Magnolia? Probably Madison. There used to be a small little bike shop to the N. of the 91 there but I haven't been out that way in a while (I drove the 15 N to the 91 E everyday for 8 years)

Thats the exit! Corona, Rivierside, whatever, but yeah, that is the one I am talking about. They have the Cliff Shot stuff which I live by so that made me happy. Plus I got a repair stand there. And with the 10% off its like getting it on an extra sale.

Yeah exit McKinley and go south, turn right on Sampson and make a right on the 1st street (can't remember the name). Go to the end and go left when you get to the strip mall. I went to the job fair they had 6 months ago or whatever and the manager was a prick.

Performance Sorrento Valley or Take my LBS -- Please

Now I know it's Performance, so they're naturally not going to be as good as others, but really it's the most conveniently located LBS for me. Also, they talked me into getting one of those stupid membership cards. ](*,)

I went in yesterday to pick up one BB7 for the back so I could use the points to buy another for the front today. They have the 07s for 50 bucks. They didn't have a rear one. They only had one front with the cleansweep rotor (which isn't 07 is it?). I was concerned about being able to locate another one with cleansweep, so I decide 10 bucks more for 08 isn't so bad. They don't have the rear 08 either. Jesus. So I bought one front and ordered the rear online.

Poorformance has a delivery option of sending it to your LBS. It's free, so I though "what the hell". I got a confirmation last night on my order:

What???? I have to wait 3 weeks???? I'll just buy one from BB then. So I ask to cancel:

    The response:

    Arrrrggghhhh!!!!](*,):protest:

Performance is kinda sucky no doubt, relative to the smaller shops that know you, but now and they they do offer really great deals, and that membership card aint so bad, getting 10% back in store credit comes in handy during a bike build. Of course I drop coin in their pockets all the time...so I start to save up store creds like no other...having said all that the one in Sorrento is by far the worse Performance Ive been to. I only go unless I have to.

Dude, I feel your pain. That is the EXACT thing that happened to me when I ordered a bottom bracket for my old bike! I ended up cancelling and buying the BB elsewhere! With performance, I don't let them touch my bike and I make sure anything I buy is in stock. Other than that I would go elsewhere.

I use performance for stuff like riding clothes, cleaning supplies, and nutriton. They sell stuff in bulk/boxes unlike my LBS and always have good deals + the 10% back. Even if another shop does price matching the 10% back amkes it cheaper at performance

eh, at least you got that email.

A couple weeks ago I ordered a hitch rack that I was told would be there in March. Free shipping too. Apparently it came last week and I was never told until I emailed customer service asking why I was charged for shipping. She gave me a tracking number, only for me to find out it had been at the store for a week by then already delivered. I get to the store and they can't find it, so they give me one of their shelf. The whole time there I said I'd never be back.

I had the same experience. Ordered a hitch rack from them on Feb 13, read my email the next day and saw the "expected delivery date" of March 8th. Waited a few days to see if I could find anything online that could beat their price, couldn't, so i figured i'd wait.

Later I see that they charged me for shipping to their store, when the same email said free shipping. I email customer service asking why and also asking why it's taking so long if the item wasn't backordered.

I then get an email that says my item was shipped, and they gave me a fed ex tracking number.

I look it up and the item was shipped the week before, yet I was never told or emailed. I show up at the store with the order number, they don't have it nor do they recall ever getting it. They look it up and since it was a week later, either they shipped it back or put it on their shelves, they didn't know. They ended up giving me one from the shelves, which had i known initially, would have saved me the trouble online.

The trick is to print out an online price like from pricepoint and bring it in so they can match it. You get the part right away with no shipping and get 10% back.

I have been in the store once......I stopped by to look for a 19mm cone wrench about a week ago. I had my rambunctious 5 year old with Down Syndrome with me so I was looking to get in, get what I needed, and get out before my kid destroyed everything in the store.....

The store was empty except for me and the guy up front who basically ignored me while he chatted a really long time with another customer about some race they were both at recently....

So after a few minutes just standing there and trying to keep my kid from knocking down everything within reach, I went around the displays, found the tool, brought it to the counter and waited a long time while struggling to get my kid from jumping over the counter..... finally this kid came out from the back and finished the sale.....so I figured the guy up front probably was not an employee that's why he had not helped me.......

As the kid was giving me my change the guy that had been chatting finally said goodbye to his pal and he came up to me and asked "can I help you"

I swear If I had not already gone to 3 other bike shops looking for that darn #19 wrench I would have walked out.....
