Just heard the story from Tim and Sherry, I've seen a lot of $hit, and you are badass. The new rule for you is NOBODY can ever complain while on a ride with you. Hope you feel better.

    FEb 6 044.jpg UPDATE!!!!!!!

Went to see the ortho today. Kinda one of those good news/bad news days.

Good news is that it is repairable.

Bad new is that there are actually 3 breaks instead of the 2 previously thought. 3rd break may heal on its own.

Also found out my foot was pretty badly dislocated.....guess now I know why I was in such pain the last 2 days....even when taking the drugs.

So the ortho re-aligned my foot today.....kinda a pain and pleasure thing....hurt like a SOB when he was pulling/twisitng/pushing. Great relief afterwards.

No surgery this week...still way too much swelling. Have a CT Scan scheduled for Weds. to see if there was any soft tissue damage.

    Looks like10-12 weeks of recovery.

I gotta say Shartin Martin. Your Fonzy factor has definitely increased in my book. Get well soon. So does this mean no Blackstar tomorrow?

Good luck on the recovery. I'm just starting back on the bike trainer after tearing the ligaments in my ankle back in October. Fractured the fibula and tore the inside and outside ligaments. My ankle looked pretty much the same. Make sure you ask for multiple colors on your cast...to match your bike...hahaha...like I did!

You might fit in my kids trailer. Joey Sunday needs the extra pounds for training to be a Sherpa this summer.

    Wooohooooo :bang:

    Surgery is complete.

    Final Tally:

    2 Plates
    14 Screws
    40 Staples
8" Incision on the inside of right leg
6" Incision on the outside of right leg

I was told no weight bearing on it for 10 weeks....WOOOF!!!!!

They gave me a nerve block for the first 12 hours after surgery.....that was kinda funky, until it wore off....OUCHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like all your hardware is permanent....If so, looks like you'll need to get some lighter rims to make up for the weight increase.......

Healing vibes and from my own experience, take the docs advice (no weight bearing) very seriously....you could bring the bones out of alignment bending the screws in the process.....

I think all the extra hardware will disqualify you from racing.

Damn! Just read this now because of traveling and taking a bit of a break (not *your* kind of break). I did wonder why I hadn't seen you up at the shop recently. Best wishes in getting healed up and back out on the trail!

Ok.......so it's been nearly 4 weeks since my spill.

Surgery was done.......had the staples removed earlier this week....recieved my hard cast and told to come back and see the doc in 4 weeks.

Have pretty much been seditary for the last month. Yesterday I finally ventured out on my own.....got in the car and drove the 3/4 mile to Switchback, first time driving as well.

Today decided needed to get out again. This time, hopped on the bike and rode around the block. It was great to be back on the bike. Rode less than a mile, but was winded and felt like I couldn't breath......holy crap this losing the fitness sucks.....can't wait to see how bad it will be in another 8 weeks.:(

Be patient. A couple years ago I spent 12 weeks in a wheelchair (broken pelvis/femur). I followed my doctors orders for the most part. My time off the bike was about 14 weeks and yes, I lost a lot. However, my fitness rebuilt much more quickly than I expected. You have a lot to look forward to:bang:
