Thinking of selling your Tallboy, now... and taking up something a little less taxing on the body???? me either!!! Way to hang in their J. Bones heal & you'll be back on the bike before you know it. Kudos to the rest of the gang for helping you get out of there. As you say, that is difinitely not a place to get hurt.

    See you soon, my friend....

I had a similar injury on a trail in '08 and also rode myself out......except I only had about 3 miles to ride to a vehicle.....I've been on Palm Canyon and I can't even begin to imagine what you went through to get off that trail after only 9 miles...

I had four screws inserted to re-attach the tips of the fib and tib......two of the screws are permanent....the other two were removed in a second surgery......

I was back on a bike about 5-6 months later (on pavement) and I was back on the single-track around 7 months out......but I also had soft-tissue damage...

I also had a bad allergic reaction to the meds that required a 911 call but thats another story #-o......

See, that's why you should ALWAYS carry a flask of Whiskey/Bourbon or perhaps Tequila or Jägermeister just to help kill the pain for the ride out, ya never know.Well, just as long as you do not become one of those sad, self loathing drunks. ;)

Sucks about the ankle but it is better then a head eh?
    Heal up quick.

What a stud! I am sure you were still riding stuff I walked. I guess injuries like this are how you determine your threshold for pain - obviously yours is beyond most. Glad you got out OK.

So, you need me to babysit your Tall Boy for awhile? Get well soon!

Parrish told me you were trying to clear a 60' gap jump. He said you made the distance, but your suspension couldn't handle the impact. You don't have to be so modest.

Very impressive, way to HTFU! I wouldn't have thought that was possible. Still had a lot of tough stuff to make it through.

Or could this just be some devious way of getting out of trail work.

Kudo's to the equestrians who offered the help.

WOW that ankle looks fake it is so inflated! Speedy recovery to you. I feel luck as I just road that canyon the week before some guy cracked is frame and now the week after some guy broke his ankle. Amazign you got out of there, I would have gotten on the horses, but then again I have ridden form time to time.
