Top 10 Reasons Dino Won't Be Racing On Tuesday...

10. August 31st is "National Day" in Malaysia
9. My Iron Horse will be in Washington D.C. (testifying before Congress)
8. I never ride on the same day I cut my hair
7. It just won't "feel right" if Kimmie and Tree aren't there
6. If I race, I would have to skip my pre-race meal (Chronic Taco / Taco Mesa)
5. If I race, I will lose my "front row" parking space
4. My bike is currently under investigation (performance enhancing drugs)
3. If I race, and don't win, Pato will post his own Top 10 List (i.e. why I suck)
2. I can't bear the thought of having racers flip me off as they pass me by (guaranteed to happen)

And the number one reason Dino will not be racing on Tuesday
I enjoy cheerleading 100X times more!

Example #14 (from last weeks race):
Kid was pushing his bike up the long hill. He was 150 feet from me- head down.
I started cheering, screaming and ringing the bell.
The kid looked up... Then looked at me.. Then looked over his shoulder.
As soon as he realized I was cheering for him, he hopped on his bike and pedaled up the hill at Mach speed! He got a kick out of it... And so did I?

Dino, I'll be the first to say I don't think you should race. I'd much rather see you out there cheering for me than getting in my way as I pass you.

 

Very good reasons! But do agree that there is no better chearleader than you! We just need to get you a nice little chearleader outfit with pom poms!

Wow I can't believe it. 25th out of 71 in my class. No one else in B4?? Geez I'm going to have to go smack talk on myself then. :-k#-o

 

Just finished signing up... B3...near the end..no # yet..but Dino..look for the Team Crash jersey..that b me!

 

Got to finish strong tomorrow. Have a chance to make top 10 in sport 2 for the series! Much better than I expected moving up to sport class and only being able to make 8 races at that class.

 

Last Week

Any new racers?? Does it seem like they will run the same course as last week but in reverse? Can't wait to go kick some butt on myself! :lol:

Good luck Sam! My B1 top 10 dreams were dashed with a sprinkling of cactus, but I'm going for my time goal tomorrow. Just tried to pull out the needles from the jersey I was wearing. I really wish I hadn't changed out of my work 'jersey' at the last minute into my favorite real jersey. I stopped counting at 100, pulled at least that many more out, and finally conceded with well over that many left Much easier to just get a new work shirt from the boxes upstairs

 

They generally change the course after two weeks, and we've run the same layout two weeks now. They reran the course that we left off with over the break when we came back, so we've got a big fat who knows? tomorrow. It could be a super short sprint like the first week, it could be super tough, or it could be the same. I wouldn't mind if it was super hot and we ran it backwards with all the hike a bikes, I seemed to like those more then everyone else and did ok on them, but I won't complain if it's anything that will help me hit my 45 minute goal

 

I'll be there with a bunch of newbies..... Viva "Bar Hoppers" I havent raced since rim nordic last year, so this should be fun. Running in Sport 2, hoping for a next to last finish!

 

Julia was going to race today but sold her TREK last night. We will be spectating instead it's just as fun.

 

I am sure someone on STR would loan her a bike!!!
