    Hey Guys,

After 3 months of waiting, it's finally here!! Got a call from my lbs Friday letting me know that my Med '10 Specialized Epic Comp 29er was in. I couldn't pick it up till Sunday but it's now resting nicely in my garage. During my wait, I did however collect a few parts to upgrade the bike once it arrived.

    Upgrades:

    XO Shifters
    XO Rear Derailleur
    XT Cassette (not installed yet)
Specialized The Captain S-Works 2.2 Front Tire
    Tubeless w/Stan's Fluid
    Shimano MT75 XT 29er Wheelset
    Shimano 520's

I still need to install some carbon goodies once I get a few rides on my new baby \\:D/\\:D/\\:D/

Anyway, here are some pictures. I was messing around with my camera today and wanted to take pictures of the bike before it gets dirty. Please excuse my lousy photography. Random and unedited pictures:

What does it weigh in at? There was a guy with one at R&R the other day - he had the full XX group set on it !!

I'm not sure. I'm heading after work to pick up a digital scale tomorrow and will post pictures of the weigh-in.

nice...you take good pictures, thats for sure.

given the updgrades employed already, did you consider the marathon version? or is that just a ton of $ more? (I am too lazy to check the specialized site but i recall the marathon version retailing anyway for i think it was $6100 in which case yeah, this made sense)

    congrats

At 6k the Marathon was out of the question for me because for the price I prepaid for the Comp + all the upgrades, I could have 2 of my bikes plus upgrades and a little extra back.

Yeah, I also cannot justify $1k per pound difference on the Marathon weight vs. Comp weight with my goodies either.

    more light please!

Especially under the BB. In picture #2 and next-to-last looks like 2 cables are hanging way too low.

Some Specialized full suspension bikes I have come across have been susceptible to ghost shifting if you don't leave the RD housing under the BB a little slack like that although those may be a tad on the long side. I was told that by a bike mechanic and have found it to be true..
