Yea they look good. Rear end of the Reign looks whimpy, but im sure they made it strong enough.

Dino, not sure why the .7" loss of travel concerns you. I have noticed tat i have never felt my glory bottom out with that extra travel.. after all, it is a DOWNHILL bike, made for going downhill fast, not made for huge hucks, so the suspension would be set up accordingly.
I think 8 inches for a DOWNHILL race bike is plenty.
    Just my thought.
wit that said, i would have liked to see the 2010 Glory come with the 2010 boxxers rather than the fox 40, but thats a personal preference.

I've seen you bottom your glory...

but yeah, travel isn't that big of a deal. it'll still ride well. I just hope that they updated the geometry a little. it's a little steep/tall in the old configuration, with no good way to lower it. they have the faith for freeride, now slack out that glory a bit more!

that said, I think the new reign is ugly. the old ones are so sleek and sexy...

+1 on the boxxer too. not like you couldn't easily sell off the 40 and buy a boxxer team though :?:

Brandon/Bryguy- The "loss" of travel does not concern me...
Travel loss (+) steep and tall... That is what concerns me.
If they lower and slacken the bike for 2010... I WILL be selling the UZZI! You heard it here first! :)

Bry- I happen to like the new REIGN... They lightened it up... Geometry looks good... Low center of gravity. I can't wait to demo one! Have you considered the possibility YOU may not like the new Reign due to the fact YOU are soooo "infatuated" with your '07 Reign. Just a thought! :D

    Brandon/Bry- +1 on the Boxxer!

dwsand3r- I do realize Giant uses Maestro and NOT my beloved dw-link...
    1) I have always been a fan of the Maestro linkage 2) My favorable (Maestro-related) comments have been well documented 3) Iron Horse has lost the dw-link 4) Ibis does not sell a 6" or DH bike 5) I have 15 minutes of seat time on a Pivot Firebird (no DH bike in the near future) 6) Turner won't begin production of their 6"/DH frames until 2010....

    What's a guy to do? ](*,)

C'mon now 99% of us don't need a bike with more then 6 inches of travel. Even our DH trails don't need it.

    From what I understand, it's still a prototype! :(
-I'm sure we will know more by Interbike
-No coil shock option... No ISCG mounts (not necessary...nice options though)
-Curious if it shares ride characteristics with their 5" bike

TRUST ME... The bike is on my list!!!!
Not sure if I want to wait 6-12 months for my next bike!

good points indeed dino. I'm just not crazy on the crazy bendy downtube. it looks cheap to me. I prefer my reign, with the straight DT and a gracefully hydroformed top tube. it just looks cleaner IMO, especially on the Large size (which usually looks better on giants in general). I would need to see what a large (or an XL if their cool enough to actually offer an XL in the reignX) actually looks like until I pass final judgement, but I don't like the look of it now.

with regard to the glory, I agree. if they reduce the travel and maintain the current geometry, then you will end up with a steeper bike. I REALLY think that they need to drop the BB to around 14" and slacken the HA accordingly (at least 65*, possibly 64.5*). they have the faith for a FR rig, there's no reason to make the glory good for anything but descending through super gnarcore rocks.

if they don't update the geo, that's really sad IMO. I remember Bflo and I talking about different shock configurations for the older glory, and it was cool. a shorter shock got us a 13.8" BB, 8" of travel, and a 64.5* HA. it probably would've hauled, but you needed to get a custom shock from avalanche to do it. I just hope they did that kind of thing to the new one.

and I agree on the mojo HD. it needs ISCG tabs and a spring curve that would work with a coil shock before I'd ever consider it. the standard mojo is a brilliant bike, that works well for ALL types of riding. I think that a bigger one could be a really good thing, but they do need a couple of basic things (like coil compatibility)

Dino. the guys at sea otter treated me very well once they interrogated me and found out i work for a giant dealer.
The Geometry is updated for the 2010 glory. talked to Rando about it as well in fontana, the New glory will be a BEAST.
I can promise you that. When i go to interbike, i am going to the demo this year and i am oging to ride it..

oh, and the guys at giant couldnt give me exact weights, but the insider said loo for the glory to be at least 2-3 pounds lighter on the frame alone..
    :)

I got a chance to the see the new glory dh in in action in Aliso, Rando was product testing it. It look good and he said the stand over height is lower on the new model than it was on the previous which is good as the old glory was a little on the large side for me.

does .8 inches of travel really make any difference? I mean.. thats only about nearly 7/8 of an inches.. im sure these pro riders have admited that the 09 had too much travel but prob better for the weight of its bike? Who knows? lighter, needs less travel.. possible better corenering? I have an 09 glory dh, I love it through rock gardens, butterly smooth, but cornering kinda strange.

Isnt the Maestro just a rip off of the DW Link anyways? I have never felt the DW link but I cant imagine it is any different.

Is the Trance geometry on the 2010 any different than the 09 and 08's? Doesnt look like it. Anyways, those bikes looks super duper nice. I want a Glory.
