race the SS, get it muddy.
    it will be fun
i would race that over the Norco, only cuz i think the norco would be too much, imagine how much time you could make up with the easier pedaling SS :bang:
why did you buy it, other than for use at fontana?

you can do it! just don't try and wall ride around that waterfall, and you'll be good. :bang:

you don't need a whole lot of tire for this. something 2.5 and tackyish up front will do well. for the sport course, there isn't a lot of crazy turns (there's a few, but most are completely railable)

race the SS. the noob course is pretty mellow, and seemed just about perfect for a 6-7" bike. enough to blast through the couple of rock gardens (or take up the landing if you just jump them like I was doing on a few), but still pedalable/ fast accelerating.

my take on the conditions: if things stay about the same as they were today, it is going to be an amazing weekend. there was enough rain last night to put moisture a few inches into the ground, so even dragging tires won't expose too much dry stuff. a few puddles, but nothing deep or mucky.

I will comment on the sport/beg. course, since I'm not really bothering with the other one too much (not racing it)

a few turns up top, pretty quick through there, and some scattered rocks. one left-hand berm that should be really nice once the pounding of hundreds of DHers firms it up. a few nice, dropping rock gardens (including a fun one into the saddle).

where they split the course last race (albeit only a little), they have taped off the left line, so we to take the slow/chunk line. head down the hill, and there's a nasty, 180* hairpin that's WAY off camber and has an uphill exit. basically, it blows REALLY hard. you'll know when you see it.

from there, it's pretty much a straight shot down the hill to the road. gotta avoid a couple of rocks, couple of ruts, and just hang on.

lower rock garden is a nice hybrid of the upper and lower lines, using the rock feature from the first race, with a cooler entrance. I like this line a lot, and it should be fun.

the 4X track is PRIME right now. nice and tacky. some of the stuff they built up in the recent rebuild is a little soft (i.e. the step up table on the road, and the transfer from the road to the lower area). should make for good racing action.

if she races all 6 of the series, she has a bad race to throw out.
if you make her skip this one she wont be able to throw a race out. #-o

plus, i hear you are gonna let her race DH ;)

Well she's been asking me 100 times to borrow a DH bike from Pato. Honestly, I was too busy to handle this task for her. I'd rather her wait for the weather to be better for DH.;)

0kay - I'll make an effort to get her the 4X track in this weather.](*,)

    So, is her bike complete?
    i assume not.
i have a bike she could borrow to ride dh but its SS.
it would get the job done though.
OR, she can borrow parts from me if i have what she needs

yeah, but I could imagine that sooooooo fun waterfall not being soooooo fun once it gets wet and the mud from the section directly above it starts getting tracked onto the rocks  good luck though :)

bring and umbrella/rain slicker and all is good. it was POURING in fullerton earlier today when I left for practice, but next to nothing once I was in fontana :?:
