McCain has been easy to beat so far because he has run a bad campaign.

He has clearly sufferred by not delivering a clear message of how he is different from GW and the Republicans.. Really, how can he?

His direct and indirect attacks by himself, his campaign and his surrogates suggesting that Obama is unamerican, unpatriotic, a muslim, a terrorist, a socialist, SATAN, etc. are not working on the independent voters he so desperately needs.

He also shot himself in the foot by picking an uninformed running mate who mainly appeals to the right wing. Instead of trying to be inclusive, his VP pick has proven to be devisive. She has been good to stir up the base but nothing more.

Is this how McCain would have run the country? Sounds like more of the same that we've experienced under the leadership of the fool known as GW.

Unless something surprising happens at the poles, his goose is cooked!!!

I think SoCal is more republican than the state as a whole. I vote to separate out Socal from the rest of Cali.

    Yes!!;)

What else is new???? How many previous elections have you felt like voting for "The Lesser of 2 evils"?????

Yes, but how many other candidates are running under the "other" parties? I have not paid attention this election, but last election I swear there were at least what seemed like 20 other candidates in independent parties I had never heard of. Just think if there were only 2 parties and everyone had to vote. Hmmmmm!!!

I think Orange County is more republican than the greater LA area. I could be wrong, but maybe the majority on STR are from the OC area and therefore tend to back the republican candidate.

Maybe mountain bikers are just more likely to be republican than the rest of the state due to the demographic profile of mountain bikers.:?:

The OC has a huge Republican base. As does central California. It's the rest of the California's Democratic leanings that keep it a blue state.

The most amusing thing about this (or any) election is that some people really do believe that the world is going to wake up on Nov. 5 and things are somehow going to be different/better/worse...

well, the last 8 years were very different than the eight that preceeded it.

Yeah, but saying it's all Bush's fault is giving him way too much credit (same applies to giving Clinton credit for the boom in the 90s).

So you must make at least $250,000 a year, because that's the only way Obama's plan would come for your wallet. Congrats. Good for you. At least someone is making out well in this economy.

Interesting the steepest inclines in national debt have all been under Republicans.

According to this graph it is the Republicans who have a spending problem. What happened to the party of fiscal responsibility? Maybe they should spend less time bashing people of intellect and more time on sound policy.
