Ok, so assuming you have about 2-3 minute runs, maybe the size of fontana, what would be your ideal run?
Flowy with ladder drops? Low speed with lots of stunts. No stunts and all flow and rock gardens? Brick Berms?

Please, if you say technical can you describe it?
    Thanks everyone

Edit: If you can, maybe include pics of some of the features you like and why you like them.

Can we say "all of the above?" My ideal is a variety of the above. If it were the same thing (all flow, all stunts, all technical) or even the same "ideal" trail over and over, I'd get bored with it.

I really like trails like Velocity in Mammoth.... it has a few stunts, a few jumps, some flowy sections, some technical rock garden sections, and it takes just over 3 minutes.

Of course a couple of hot racer chaser waiting at the bottom of the run to hang out with & handing me a cold one at the end of the day. Yeah that would be a "Dream Run"

my ideal downhill run starts at my house, descends for about 2 hours, then ends at my house.

there's a rip in time and space off the end of this huge ladder drop, so you actually have no climbing \\:D/. pretty sweet loop if you ask me

more to the point, I would like a mix of everything. flowy, fast singletrack (berms a plus), a few rock gardens (kinda like stairsteps, a mix of sharp and round rocks), and natural stunt features (rock drops, jumps, etc).

Oh yeah, and it'd be steep :bang:

Ok, here's my idea on a trail.
SOmehting that has multiple lines to cross it up, so you can ride the same trail 10 or 20 times in a single day on not cover the exact same line all day to keep it interesting. Also, i believe a Versatile DH/FR trail is nice. something smooth enough to ride a 5 or 6 inch bike on, yet still technical and challenging enough that the 8-10 inch guys can get pleasure from it.

    Oops that sounded wrong.
Anyways, im going to day to scope out a potential line for a trail(s) today, as well as maintanence some of the ones that have become overgrown and weeded out.

    A-Line at Whistler.

There are several other awesome runs that are equally awesome at Whistler, but I forgot the names.

make sure that you're clear to build before you do. it would be a pity to have a good trail destroyed because you didn't go through the proper channels.

Oh, and find big rocks, and make drops off them :bang: Natural features are way more fun than things like ladders, and they are less likely to piss off the occasional hiker

My dream run would be two different trails, that cross as several points so you can change between them. One, a super fast, super flowy, A-line type of trail, intermixed with some doubles, big tall berms, tables, and maybe a couple drops. Running parallel to that trail would be a very fun, technical trail, with some rock gardens, switchback turns, super steep hairy sections, and drops. With those two trails snaking next to each other, it would be PERFECT.

ok mine would also start at my house and end at my house, fast flowy burmed turns with 10 foot drops into rollers, rolling hills going down the hill that turn into 30 ft camel humps, wall rides off of burms, and a giant set of Dj's that give me 3+ seconds of air time

Westridge was fun for its time, but it was only 5% of what A-Line is. Imagine the best parts of Westridge being 20 times longer, the speed higher, high-speed berms, much taller and longer jumps, bigger drops, better flow, better dirt and rocks, and oh...excuse me while I go change my shorts after thinking about A-Line (Crank it Up is also a great run).

yeah, but just imagine having Westridge back. Oh, and being able to take a REAL downhill bike on the life would be a must. It would be fun and yes, you would ride it. (and like it)

I know I know, wishfull thinking.

A line sounds nice. To bad it's not just an hour drive away.

But to answer the op's question I like natural stuff. I'm happy with Skyline even though I don't ride it enough.

Schleyer at Whistler comes to mind, more gnar than A-Line, but still has some good flow, and when you get it memorized, you can hit it wide open!
