I bought the G3 because of a few "cool" points. I got is set up, put the DH bike on the stand and had this exact problem. I don't want to have to be careful. I want to put my bike up and work. Returned it the next day for the Park PCS-10 and I love this thing to death. I had a 10% coupon that came on the back of a mailer so it was only a little more then the G3. It doesn't matter how heavy of a bike, if it's centered, nothing matters lift the bike. flip the cam lock and work away. I recommend this to everyone.

The Bike rack was built to hold two bikes, not actually a work stand, just a storage rack. The front section of the supporting PVC arms are removable.

I ran out of money... :)

PC10 parkstand is my preferred stand

I have a G3 but bought my girlfriend a PCs10 and am extremely envious of it. The G3 is pretty unstable in my mind

Returned my G3 - Very Unstable. Performance guys said they were great, they lied.

I'm thinking Park Tools - PCS 9 or 10. Just waiting for a sale to pop up.

    Best budget work stand?

    Hello Everyone,

I've been doing some minor adjustments and maintenance on my bikes for a little while now, and my back is finally telling me to stop bending to work on it, and flipping it upside down and worrying about it falling over when I'm working on it/ cleaning it.

So, I'm trying to get a feel for a decent work stand (stability and durability) within a budget (Let's start at < $150.00).

I know this question has been asked, and I have looked at the old threads, so my apologies for asking again.

From my research, I have picked a few, but I would like some "real life" feedback on the pros and cons of these if you don't mind entertaining...

    - Sette ST-7 DLX - Seems like reasonable buy and you get a a few extras. Is this a stable and durable stand?

    - Ultimate BRS-50R - Is the spinner clamp too cumbersome? Durable and stable?

    - Park PCS 9/10 - It seems the main difference is the Q/R. There are lots of positive reviews on both stability and durability. Does the Q/R justify the cost difference?

Thanks for your insight and helping me decide which is the best bang for the buck!

I have the ultimate stand (can't remember which model it is but it's something along the lines of "Pro-Portable") and i love it. It's not massive but it can easily hold up my dh bike with no problem.

If you want to play it safe, you can't really ever go wrong with park tool either...

I have a friend who's trying to sell a hardly used (but a few years old) Park PCS-9 (gray) work stand. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you some pics and a general price. I'm sure it'll be a steal.

I have had the Ultimate stand for over 8 years. Recently 2 parts broke which holds the telescoping stand in locking position. I cannot say enought about the customer service I recieved. They shipped all the parts needed to fix free of charge and the stand is back to new. Again, the stand is over 8 years old and they took care of the parts under warranty. That is one hell of a warranty.

Spinner clamp is easy to use and the bike holds strong by the seat post or TT if you like.

I like my Park pcs 10. It gets the job done and I do like the QR on it. But is kind of a b***h to adjust it when you are holding the bike with the other hand. I still prefer it over the twister knobs.

I have the PCS-10, real happy with it. The only way I see replacing it is with one of these bad boys once I build my shop :)

Here's some pics I just took of my friends Park PCS-1. The thing is in very good condition. If anything, it has some minor stains that can easily be removed with some Windex or Simple Green. Name a price and I'll pass it on. I think he'll be happy with $50-$60 but couldn't say for sure.

I've got that stand as well. Its been solid and reliable for close to 10 yrs. The only thing I wish it had was adjustable height, but that's no big deal at all. For $50-60 I'd go for it.

    Workstand recommendations

I'm lookin for a workstand. My bike weighs about 28lbs and I do light maintenace on it - ummm really light. Mostly cleaning, pedals, controls, drivetrain clean/ lube.

What do u guys recommend and where are the best deals. My budget is around $100, new or used but I want it to last.
