    Muddy Race

I was just watching the news and it looks like it will rain on Saturday and possibly on Sunday. Looks like it will be a very muddy race.

That much more reason to ride a SS, no gears/derailer to clunk up with mud ;)

Who's down to get together Sat night? A friend and I will be staying up at the Shilo Inn since I didn't feel like waking up super early to drive 90 miles to race.

not sure. I blame the weather. Excluding the fully loop, i haven't broken 12 miles in forever. I just don't ride as much. :(

    you've been emailed!

The downhill isn't too steep, but it's loose, if we have the same conditions as last year.

I'm a registered beginner. Site says beginners start at 11:45. So what time do I have to be there?

Is anyone interested in carpool for beginner start time from south-ish OC (MV, Lake Forest, Canyons)? PM me.

So today's pre-ride was good. Good to see the course. As compared to Bonelli, it is A LOT easier fitness-wise, a lot harder technical-wise (a lot of off-cambered singletrack). So it probably evens out depending on which area you are better skilled. Just want to apologize to the group today for making the ride take FOREVER esp there near the end. I dunno what happened, some sort of asthma attack or something, I couldn't breathe, I was all shaky, and couldn't move more than a few steps. Nothing like that has ever happened before. SORRY! Thanks though for waiting for me. It better NOT happen tomorrow! The trails should be nice and packed down if it stops raining before tomorrow. As we were leaving, it was starting to absolutely POUR! Tomorrow should definately be interesting! Bring your rain jackets =)

I didn't make the 10 am start time. Was looking forward to meeting fellow members. But I was able to get one lap in before it started pouring. I missed the last section where you pass through the narrow wire fence because the girl their closed the gate when I got there. Her dang supervisor was being a b***h. It was fun, but won't make the races this year. Something to look forward to next year.

And ohyeah89, sorry to hear about your asthma attack but glad that you are better. Have fun tomorrow!

just find someone on here that isn't registered and tell them to sign up under your name. they just tell the people at the desk that they're taking your spot and they scratch you out and put them in. doesn't matter what class. they won't have to pay anything.

now whether they pay you back or not is up to you.

    I'd take it but I think I already got someone's spot that pre-registered. :)

The course is something else. It's the same as last year, just in very different conditions.

I'm not positive as this is my first race too, but I think I read somewhere to get there 2 hours before your race time. There should be a STR canopy up if you want to get there early and hang out.

Yes. Rain should make it interesting, eh?
