Anyone wanna break out those skinny tires and hit the road one of these days? Maybe friday after thanksgiving to work off some of the turkey.
NOT a ROADIE myself but my evil twin just bought this wierd contraption with curved handlebars and ridiculously scary tiny tires that I'm looking to devirginize somewhere. I may be in and can only do weekdays. Any of you ever do the road version of Bonelli?? Is it worth a road ride...
we are going to have to change the website name soon if this keeps up. Something like SLCSUTRR Socal Lycra Clad Skinny Useless Tire Road Riders. But that name is just a work in progress. Seriously tho, much love to all redheaded stepchild roadies and have fun on your ride
Hey Sharky, You might want to consider Cycling Connection. That's my road club and they do some local stuff on weekdays. http://www.cyclingconnection.org/ Watch out though, the weekday rides can get real fast as a lot of riders use then for a training ride. Still there are some just along for a cruise.
Let's go! I've got a road bike!! Frank can whine all he want. I won't hear him when I'm so far ahead of him from now on. That's right, Frank. I said it.
Let me know when you plan to ride Sharky, I need to work on my hunting skills... huntin' roadies that is. =P~
all the way down the santa ana river trail? 60 miles round trip to huntington, nice ride and we can even cruise up to the peer...i dont know how many miles that adds on though
I'm admitting NOTHING !! It was my twin. When I...I mean when she rides with these guys she'll just stay sandwiched between them so your threats DO NOT scare me (her) you evil woman! [-( Thanks for the link, Mike. Checked it out and also got some info on how someone can do a road thingy at Bonelli from my LBS.
Looks like our ride will be from Fontana to Bonelli do a few loops or decide to ride somewhere else from there or call it a day and ride back. Plenty of options. New2mtb/Khai, do you guys want to meet us at Bonelli or you could just start riding up Baseline and meet us there? We will be leaving Fontana around 8. Or you could just meet us out here???
It's ok Gurp, I'll catch you when you walk your bike down anything that resembles a rock or loose dirt. Good to know you guys will be on Baseline, I'll be hunting some roadies too on my way to Southridge.
...we can even cruise up to the peer...i dont know how many miles that adds on though[/quote] I live in HB. The pier is about 2-3 miles from the river trail. Let me know when you are riding down and I'll hook up for the ride back up with you guys. I'll have fresh legs and you can draft. I have always wanted to see haw far that trail goes up. I have only road up on it to Corona and through the Santiago Canyon (70 miles).
