Indeed a classic. I loved the spin off on that where a few of us did that on "pre" bikes and put pegs on them and just did gravity fed runs. never in my life have i hated being 6' tall so much.

Nice! =D I see all these DH bikes and i have to ask:

Who is 6' or taller and rides DH? Im having some whack issues with top-heaviness. Basically im trying to find a point where standing up im not messing up my center of gravity but also cannot afford to get a lower based bb for clearance issues.

Steve Peat, Greg Minnaar, Gee Atherton, Matti Lehikoinnen, Rich Houseman and BryGuy17 to name a few. Oh - and yours truly. Tall seems to be an advantage in DH - it's like adding suspension. Maybe it's because tall guys can get low and flat and absorb a lot without the bike getting in the way. Compared to our body, every bike has a low center of gravity.

I guess i need to lean differently then. alot of the time i just have a hard time keeping turns with the bike and pedal through i just feel tall and awkward honestly.

Tall guys will be at a disadvantage in turns, if for no other reason than the 47" wheelbase.

My understanding is that flat turns call for hip angulation (like skiing) to keep weight over the biting edge of the tire. Berms on the other hand - are heaven. Stay perpendicular to the berm (or keep the spine in line with your seat tube) and rock out! Now - I can say all that, but I can't actually do it myself.

Someone good out there please confirm or correct my "tips" (Big House? EC? Julius? Joe?)

Duff - Looking on the results sheet, it looks like you won your class (821ZA?) in race #3, unless that's someone else with your #. Anyway, See you out there. Tall guy on a turquoise Yeti 303R Plate 21P.

Looks like this weekend will be the maiden voyage for the big girl. Time constraints and illness kept us apart this past week since she was finished.
