I go to the Anaheim store and have had nothing but good experiences since before I bought my bike from them back in November. Great group of guys, always willing to help and give advice. I've never gotten any pressure to buy. Can't say enough good things. I've referred a bunch of buddies that have ended up getting their bikes from them also and they've all been really happy with the service.

I bought my bike from the Laguna Niguel store and they were very helpful. Bought some shoes from the Irvine shop and the guy gave me some great advice. I plan on spending some more $$ in each.

I wouldn't say their stuff is the cheapest, but hanging out there is pretty great. As a high-school student, I don't have a sixth period, and on block days 2-4-6, I don't have anything to do, because my friends are still in class, and my dad locks up my Pitch Pro. So I just chill over at their store and talk to them about stuff. If you want to learn how to maintain/tune your bike, ask any of the employees (at least at the Laguna Niguel store) and they will help you! They will also talk to you about any local trails that you want, and most often they ride locally also. They're really nice guys. I wouldn't say their products are the cheapest! But they have great policy! Almost everything there is warrantied and if it breaks, you can usually go back and get a new one! They're replacing my Lycra in-lining from my Demo pants tommorow! I think a big thing that gets them a lot of revenue/customers is their friendly-ness and willingness to tend to your needs. If they don't have it, they'll order it for you, or find something close to what you need. They also carry almost everything you'll ever need to get started in mountain biking.

When I was buying my Pitch Pro, we couldn't decide what kind of bike to get me. We talked to one of their employees, and we were undecided for about four weeks, coming back a total of eight times. Same employee. He'd constantly come out and talk to us and give us tips and advice on what type of bike and things were suitable, etc. He never gave up on us.

I went in to purchase a replacement for a tire that punctured and wouldn't seal up. I was offered a warranty replacement without even asking me if I bought the tire from them (I did). I brought my muddy bike in and they replaced the tire with the Stan's treatment on the spot for a small fee. Saved me $60 and valuable time. I spent the $$ I saved on a jersey.

Ditto! went shopping for a new saddle recently and they spent plenty of time with me going over options and making sure I got what I needed - they even waived the install fee so I could go try it in the parking lot (didn't have tools with me) which was awesome.

Will definitely be dropping more coin there in the future :D

Went for a quick little ride, the plan was Whiting to STT, Luge, back. THAT was cut short when my brakes failed. At first, I thought it was just an air bubble; when they continued to fail, I stopped (with the working front brake) and took a peak. The pads had actually fallen out--they were about due for a change. Luckily, this happened just before Mustard, so I was able to ride the easy way out with just the front brake.

Disappointed that my ride was cut short, and not knowing if there would be any of the Avid brake pads in stock, I headed to RNR to plead my desperation to ride Saturday (with brakes).

As luck would have it, one mechanic was available, one set of pads was in stock, and all were kind enough to help me out. They bled my brakes then put the pads in place in time for me to ride. And, what do you know, the brakes even worked ;)

Thanks guys! You saved my sanity (my family especially thanks you).

Ok so I have never really made any kind of purchase more than 20 bux!!! but I must say everytime I go in this mission viejo/RSM store CeeDub(chris) and all the other mechanics and most employees are ALWAYS so over the top helpful. So eager and willing to help out and be super cool. I have gone in on so may different occasions because I am soo close to them. Just as a small example: once i went in late at night after hours but a couple guys were still in there.. I needed a starnut to get my build together for the next morning..sure enough one of the guys opened up the door and handed me a friggin starnut!! FOR FREE, and told me " MAKE IT HAPPEN BRO"!! Another occasion CeeDub had my riding glasses warrantied and replaced because the logo fell out!. Last week I went in to buy a XTR crank arm tool to buy ..they did'nt have one for sale but one of the mechanics stepped up and let me borrow the friggin thing!!! :-kSERIOUSLY???
and just today I needed a wheel box to ship out a wheelset that i sold on MTBR ..they did not have one empty so they opened up a wheel box, took the wheelset out, hung the wheels up on the floor and gave me a BOX!!

    GEEZUS!!!
seriously!! no other bike shop i have walked into has been even half as cool to me... I frequent The Path A lot for parts and frames and such because ...well they're the Path they rule!! but honestly Im gonna have to get over to rock n road again really soon, cos im looking to build a 29er SS and I just might have to grab one off the floor...JUST BECAUSE!!! oh and my 11 year old daughter wants to start riding with me so Im gonna have to get there and pick up a bike for her as well...

    Anyway.....
    Rock N Road....
    you
    Rock N ROLL!!!

When I was a kid I got all my bikes from rock n road in mission viejo and they had great service. I bought my current bike from them a trek 4400 about 8 years ago and have not used it for at least 3 years and recently decided I need to get in better shape. So I go to rock n road to buy a helmet gloves water bottles and holders a seat and a new front derallieur about $250 plus all the cable housing and installation and a tune up.

I get the bike back and go to ride it and the thing just is not shifting right and I notice as I am riding that my whole fork is out of alignment from my tire. They never informed me of any of these issues when I took it from them. I go back to the store to see what they can do about the fork and the only option is to wait a week for a fork to get in but they have the specialized wheel in stock of course. Well being that they did not earlier inform me of the bent fork like when they first had the bike, I was not willing to wait and get there overpriced fork that was like $300 so I went to another store down the street that had a fork in stock and got one for $240 after tax.

Brought it back to them to install but still got there wheel and payed for the install and the salesman is like you have spent this much money on this bike you might as well buy a new one. I explain to him that if I can stick with the hobby long enough to lose 25 lbs I plan on getting a full suspension bike. He keeps going so I to tell him I plan on making this a second bike for friends or if the main is in the shop or whatever. Maybe if they would have done enough work he would have realized I was going to have to replace the rear derallieur, the cassete, and the front v-brake he would have convinced me.
So anyway I go pick the bike up and it still is not shifting right only this time I learned my lesson and did it in the parking lot. I bring it back in and talk to a person in the front and let him know it is not shifting correct in whatever certain gears it was. The guy gives it to the mechanic and he twists a screw for about 3 seconds and it is immediately better, hmm maybe should have done that the first time I was in?

So I go out and start riding again and figure out the rear deralieur is gonna need to be replaced but after learning again it would take a week for the part I ordered on amazon with next day shipping for about $10 cheaper including shipping and handling. That is not to say I will always buy from amazon I completely believe in supporting local business and paying a little extra is okay as long as you are getting good service but obviously at this point I was not. Brought it to them for install got it back and it was working better bet still made sounds. So I call in to get a quote on a casette shifters a chain and a new v-brake and the same salesman i had earlier said he would research it and give me a call back and took down my name n number, needless to say the guy never called me back.I am a mechanic and know you are supposed to test drive and see whats up and do an inspection obviously they have no real guidelines for the mechanics. Ever since then I have decided I will never bring my bike back to them and by the way the shop down on trabuco and bake is way better prices are better customer service is way better.

Wow, that was hard to follow. I have never been to either of these LBS before but it sounds like you wasted a lot of money on a old bike that wasn't worth the upgrade.

Ya too bad they couldnt let me know that before I spent the money, when they did the tune up they never told me there was that much wrong with it thats my complaint. At the same time its a light frame and the bike is gonna be better than what I could have gotten for $500-$600 anyway.

Maybe this is easier to follow. I brought my bike back there three times you would think the 2nd time they would just tell me whats wrong so they dont see it again instead they let the parts be broken and did not tell me what it needs. That is why I had to spend all this money on the bike. Otherwise I would have gotten one but they didnt inspect properly and let the salesman know how much money I was gonna spend on this bike they are inefficient in communication.

Often times the mechanic cannot replicate the torque you put your drivetrain under on the trail while it is in te withstand or on the flat ground.

You would joy take your 8 year old computer in and have a Bunch of work done on it.....just not worth it.

As soon as you heard that you were gOing to need a new fork and wheel, you should have walked away from it....it becomes a money pit at that point, especially considering that it was an entry level bike to start with.

Not saying it was right.....but you said several times that you were told it needed a part, so went went elsewhere to buy it and then took it back to have them install. Some shops are not real high on that practice. Why did you keep going back?

They should have also quoted you prices for the repairs....you would have had to give them the "ok" to proceed with the work.

Yup.....people often complain that something doesn't get done right. So you teach them to do it themselves, then they have no one but them to complain to when it still doesn't work.

Plus some things are not as easy as some would like to think that they are.
