had plenty of it last week at the brewery in Santa Rosa and it was well worth the wait in line. 10oz pours and plenty of it
Do you need any help to polish off those Enjoy By? They're out of date . I had my last one on 2/15, it was still good despite being expired by a day. That's a pretty good stash, I haven't been able to find any Russian River locally, only when I'm in the Bay Area then it's not so difficult. My fav from Russian River is Row 2 Hill 56.
Ya I did the same thing with the prior EB's. Seems they come out faster than I can drink them. I'll do a blind taste test to see if my friends can tell me which is the oldest and which is the freshest. That's a very nice stash as well. I like Row 2, but prefer Pliny or Blind Pig. I seldom score the BP like I do the Elder. I've got several places where I score that, but 2 of the locations are in the LAX area while the other 2 are in South OC. It helps to know the day they get their deliveries. It's still hit or miss, but with having 4-5 places to score, I often hit.
Welp. I've finally reached the point, where I've taken to drinking things that come out of these kind of containers and mason jars. Not sure if if that's a high or low point, or if I should be proud or concerned.
^ This was a pricey bottle, 25$. It was great. For my taste, I am finding that most brews with maple in it needs a couple years in the cellar. Pretty sure you can find the non-barrel aged version on local shelves. I know it's not the same, but it's worth a try. Drink this one, pretty warm/ just chilled.
Had the chance to get some Pliny the Younger last night. SOOOO GOOOOD! I didn't even wait very long in line. I arrived about 9:30am yesterday morning after work. They opened the door at 10:30 and began selling wristbands. Unlike Hollingshead or Haven when you get your pour as soon as you walk into the door, Selma's sells you 1 wristband for 1 pour which you will get later between 4-7pm. They also sell overflow bands once the first 80 pours are sold out. Those pours started at 7pm. I was fortunate enough to get one of those as well. Got home and capped off the evening with an old fav.
New Belgium's Rampant Imperial India Pale Ale is my current fav, but Sierra Nevadas Torpedo is what I' m drinking tonight. li
I was at Total Wine this weekend and saw a note "one Pliny and one Blind Pig per person please" but alas they ran out. Never saw any of it ever since Total Wine opened (Tustin Ranch location). But did pick up a couple bottles of the Iron Maiden Trooper again, admittedly not that good and way overpriced but just because I'm a metal head...
I have to give a shout out to this awesome gin: Locally distilled in San Diego. The most drinkable gin I've ever had. I bought for mixed drinks, but have been drinking it neat. Highly recommended. $24 at BevMo!
Bee-eers Sometimes the stars just seem to align and I popped into Noble Ale Works at the perfect time. They just so happened to be bottling their latest collab with 3 Weavers so was able to get a few pints of The Messenger straight out the tank (downright one of the most citrusy ipas to ever hit my lips), fresh Simcoe Showers, and this little dream pictured here...Bean Bump (Imperial Naughty Sauce on Nitro). These are tonights offerings!
