    Fun times on SCST

Although I didn't know anybody who RSVP'd to the SCST ride this morning, I didn't want to miss an opportunity to ride there again. It is by far becoming one of my favorte places to ride. Yeah, it's a pretty good trek down the freeway from Cypress, but heck, that's what we do - to do what we love.

There was a great turn out for a New Years Day ride - King Goucho, Mazda Monkey, Bob Divot, Red Hot Sloth, Seat Sniffer, Uncle Rico, El_Dooder1no (sp?), Randy, Jim Steve V and me.....(did I miss anybody?)

Several from San Diego, and a few locals had not yet had the privilege to ride SCST, so Steve V and I put our heads together form previous independant rides and lead the group on a pretty good route. Everybody seemed to really enjoy themselves. While the bridges seem to have a way of surprising even the experienced rider when you come around the corners, everybody seemed to roll them well. Good job to you all!!

The more I ride here the more I shapen my technical skillse....I just love it here!

After our ride some of us - Seat Sniffer, Red Hot Sloth, El_Dooder1No (sp?), Steve V, Mazda Monkey and I - went over to Pizza Port for some additional laughs....pizza and of course....Beer!!

See you all on the trails!

i'm hoping the weather will hold out but it doesnt look good from the forecasts. There are sections of that trail that still seem to have some good tack still. I had a lot more fun this time at this place since my back wasnt acting up

Thanks for posting up the pics roadstar. It was great to ride with you guys and gal...wow, what an awesome day, and the single track..schaaweeet. Tacky, fast flowing, excruciating steeps for peeps like myself (loved 'em), an incredible introduction to SCST's. I look forward to riding here again, riding with ya'll again, getting to do some more exploring. Now I know what to expect with the short steeps. I appreciate those in the know for showing us others around this area.

    Happy New Year!!!
Great way to ring in the new year,

    Thanks everyone.

Great ride today. Wind was blowin like hell when I left home. giving me the willies on the drive about getting blown off one of the bridges but when arrived in South OC there was only a perfect breeze.

First time at SCST and what an awesome network of trails put down there. Hats off to the designers-builders

Fun group, no mechanicals or sig crashes. Everyone made it down that rutted out firebreak road thingy section that looked almost vertical looking back at it

Highlight was the look on the faces of some 5 guys waiting for us to come through and seeing a petite young lady leading about 11 burly manly men. WTG Vickie, you can ride girl:clap:

Need to put more faces to the names next time

    Thanks...Eric

I'm thinking that if there is no rain, I would like to check out this ride again.
If it rains I'm gonna hit up Elfin*

Fun times with some good peeps. Trails are in great shape, and I was able to hit some singletrack I didnt ride last time I was there. I need to ride this place more, I live too close not to.

Sorry, I missed the after ride festivities. The chain is short and my wife has me whipped.

Well...Elfin is a more intermediate ride, but I do the climb at just about a beginners pace...not ashamed of it either:) It's not really that bad though, just a difficult initial climb (1.5 miles approx. 8-900 ele. gain), after that, it's a biggitty blast. SCST does have some short but steep steeps, yepperz, I did some HAB....hey there's no shame in my game:)...

Can i Just say that my wife and I are IN LOVE with Pizza Port. The crust is really good, not oily and the cheese is a plenty.

Eldooderino - thanks for that glass of amber...that definitely quenched the thirst as we downed the pie.

Dood got here before me again.
Sniffer, if you like Daley so much why don't you marry it?:?::)

If it rains, I'm definatly going to hit Elfin, you can ride out there during the rains man, not too many trails like that out here.
I like Daley, its a great workout, but I enjoy more single track than fireroad.
C'mon, I know you wanna hit Elfin....

Looks like you guys had a blast. I knew I should've made the trip--I can always find another wife, right??:lol:

This weekend will probably get rained out, but I'd sure like to check it out soon.
