Where's that soon-to-be vintage pic of you in that boulder field that I haven't seen in awhile? Always liked that one! Yep, Keyesville is great...good to hear they rallied interest back in recent years. CrossMax is racing expert up there this year. Just listen for the gasping!

Okay so here's our families little problem.

Maddie can home from school Tues running a fever, Wed am running a 101.2 she slept most of the day (I got tons of work done), I got up at 3 am took her temp this am and it was normal 98.7. 6 am i'm up gonna get ready for the day, Maddie says she fine (little mermaid fieldtrip today) I take her temp 102.4.

So here we are it's 2:30 sounds like she's pretty chesty, So I'm not sure her and I will be making it. Neil is trying to talk himself out of it. I think he should go, he doesn't want to ditch me for the weekend since i've been home her for 2 days already.

Someone tell Neil this is something he'll regret missing.

I hope me and the kid can make it too, but if not have a blast! oh and stay warm!

(btw - this is her 3rd round of this thing since DEC #-oI can't keep the child healthy)

Aside from any excitement from everyone hanging out, with an rv/motorhome you're almost as comfy as at home!! You've got heat and running water, right?

Let her sleep on the way up there and make sure she gets plenty of rest and fluids, but otherwise why not?? :)

For my .02 cents, my wife has been home from work for 2 days..I leave for Keyesville tomorrow morning, not back until Sunday night....essentially I have been out of the child care loop for 5 days come Sunday:-k....I don't believe that is fair and I happen to enjoy spending time with my wife and child...I can drink beer and ride bikes with you bubbs anytime..I can put a number on my bike almost any weekend and race...racing is not that important to me this year, riding with daughter is, I guess I am finally growing up:lol:
I would prefer we go as a family!

Surly, I totally feel you!!! This darn flu bug has been ripping my family to shreds. It seems to keep going around and around and around. Just about the time I think I'm getting over the cold it comes back and gets me again. All three of my kids have had at least once and it seems like we've all been down with some sort of cold like sympton for the past month!

They're so pathetic looking when they're sick too and you just wanna make it go away for them. I realy do feel for you. I had to skip taking the girls to the DH races last sunday because one of them got sucker punched by the flu. I felt bad but it was either all of us or none of us (it's only fair and with twins EVERYTHING...and I mean EVERYTHING has to be fair!)

I now return you to your regularly scheduled Keyesville Classic conversation!

I wish #-oWe are bringng the little pop-up, I think I can put water in it though (?) and we've gotta run off a battery, so not sure about the heat, for some reason the generator took a poo.

Ya I'm letting her rest and she's acting less sick ;)

We'll see, if her temp goes down we'll come, I really don't want Neil to miss out.

    :-k

Yeah, definitely not as comfy, then.

I understand Neil's point of wanting to be with you guys all weekend, though. Appreciate it! I don't have that problem, but many wives/kids probably do :)

Hope you guys make it, but Maddie definitely needs to get better!

Anyone need a ride tomorrow morning from OC? I'm leaving around 8-8:30 and camping at the race site.

Hey Tracey, I don't know if it will make any difference or not but you can use my generator while you are camping. Mic and his family are using my trailer in Keysville. I left him my little 2000 watt generator so that he could use the microwave and keep the batteries up. It is a small portable unit so I'm sure you could carry it over and plug it in when you needed some juice. He won't need it very much.

You my friend, may have just made my weekend! :bang::bang::bang:Thank you!

I'm pretty sure we'll be leaving in the morning, Maddie has really perked up :) (thank god - I gotta get out of this house #-o)

I think Mic's *saving* us a spot near him, so maybe i'll luck out and be able to plug in and not lug it around. i would need it for the same reasons (coffee maker) charging the battery.

    See everyone tomorrow!

Is there cell service up there? SPRINT - It is tax season and I've got to bring some work

I just posted a RR about our course pre-ride today at
    http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/trail-talk/15548-rr-keyesville-course-pre-ride-3-13-08-a.html

Bottom line... conditions are great and it's looking like a fun weekend.

I spoke to Jason (race director) about the issues of the different ratings in the stage race. The decisions are up to the USA cycling race official who'll be here, and will be handled on a case by case basis. But Jason says they'll be fair and we'll be taken care of!

I get ATT up there pretty good. If you are bringing a coffee maker, bring yourself some good 12 ga. electrical extension cord to run to the generator. Coffeemakers are pretty Amp hungry when they are brewing.

Kanga, are folks bringing radios and what channel are we using?

It only weights about 50 lbs so it is not hard to move around. If you are going to be right near Mic you will be right in the middle of everything. I think I set up the trailer about 100 feet from the starting line.

I am on AT&T and it works great at the venue. I think the other companies are a little more spotty. I don't know about Sprint.
