    I signed up real early (I think). If I get #1 I'll donate $100 because I don't like being #2. :)

Ya, when I went the Switchback to hand in CC's and Shannon's apps, I even asked Chris about the price difference and he seemed fine with it. Save the $5.00 and buy raffle tickets in the upcoming WS events like the Toad and Traverse. Those events will be for Charity with all proceeds going to TACA(Talk About Curing Autism) from the Toad and I believe The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund for the Traverse not sure though, but I'll find out.

Here's some info: "The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund honors the bravery and dedication exhibited by Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country by providing educational scholarships to their children"

Both TACA and Freedom Alliance Scholarship Funds are good charities but don't get the recognition and funds they deserve. This past Toad Festival, The proceeds went to the Juvenile Bipolar Research Foundation. Those events won't be till spring, hope you all join me in those as well.

Just my OCD flaring up here, but I just wanted to make sure I'm good to go. I signed up online and received a confirmation email, but I see this about the apps and saw another post about turning in a waiver. I just want to make sure I'm fully registered.

Well, the CC sickness has fully set in. Ben was telling me I should do some road miles with him to train for CC. I mentioned I don't own a road bike. He said I should pick up a frame as he has a full Campy group that was given to him and I could have it.:bang:

So, I went to Performance today and walked out with this for $200. I know it's nothing special but it'll get the job done.

    I can't believe I own a road bike.#-o

I know I know, let the ribbing commence.
What's the hardest part about riding a road bike...yeah yeah yeah.

You may find road riding to be a lot cooler than you think ;).

Doug, if you signed up on active and followed the steps, then you should be good to go. The registration process on active.com would not have let you continue if you did not "check the box" that excepted the waiver. You're in alright.

Doug, start thinking about rides you'd like to do. All we need is a bike lane and your GPS.

Here would be a good first ride Sunday...
    Tour de Poway
104 Mile (Century)-start 7:00 am. Over 4,500 feet of climbing, great downhills through beautiful back country avocado groves, with a scenic ride down the coast and then back to Poway on the 8 mile SR56 bike path. Five well stocked aid stations. East bound lane of the Poway Grade will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7:00am-9:00am. Wrist bands will be required for cyclists to ride the grade.

I did the Tour de Poway last year, starts out with a nice little climb :)
Good ride though, and well supported.

The only thing I can't get into with those rides are the dayum route slips! If you can't find someone as slow as you (and I rarely do), then you should get a "route slip clip" or something...we almost followed a guy home last year
