Come on Nam, Join the fun. Although we'll be on fireroads most of the time, the 3 descents, Motorway, Holy Jim and Trabuco are good fun! (only the first 2 for the CC).

Oh no, what have I done? I finally signed up for CC, after missing the sign up for the last 3 years. Part of me thinks that missing sign up was intentional.

Am I the only one that thinks paying an additional $18.80 in fees just to sign up online is excessive?

Are they still accepting applications for VQ at Switchback or via mail?

Call me cheap, if you want, but I'd rather pay the $110 than $128.80 that Active is charging. It's bad enough that CC numbers are stolen from Active, at least I can use a temp #, but now they're charging even more for it?!?!?!

We were charged $118.15. For those of us not local to Switchback, I think it's probably at least 8 bucks to drive over there and back.

As for mail? They're only accepting mail registrations post-marked *today* (last day - according to post below). Sign up soon!

I saw that, on the first day, the entry was $110 and Active fees were $8.80. But, when I went to sign up yesterday, the entry had increased to $120, with additional fee of $8.80 for Active "processing"--for a grand total of $128.80

The $8.80 I could deal with, but near $20?

I wonder why the entry increased after 2 days of reg. being open?? That's crazy.

Hit up Switchback or the Post Office ASAP :)

Looks like the entry fee for CC went up by $15 from lsat year also. Why are the prices going up so much??

Looks like the people that signed up on the first day got a deal (clerical error, it seems)--the price increase had not been reflected online, nor on the pdf application/waiver, until day two.

Went back and read the Warrior's email:
"1. POW WOW REGISTRATION OPENS: VISION QUEST AND COUNTING COUP...

...The 2008 Mountain Bike Pow Wow is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st.

    Vision Quest ($120 - 56.5+- miles, 11,500 +- ft. of elevation gain) 200
    person limit....
    Counting Coup ($80 - 40 miles and 8,000 +- of total elevation gain) 100
    person limit."

With all that the Warriors do, trail work, advocacy and the support they provide during events, I don't mind paying the extra $10, it was just a bit confusing without knowing that the initial price was in error and it had been corrected later. By no means do I wish to cheat them out of the entry, I just didn't want Active to get it ;)

I hope Active (or ?) don't try to charge the first day entries another $10. I have a temp# with a limit!

I doubt they will; they have never opperated like that (increase charge without some notification/explination/etc).

But, that was my problem, I had created a number, with limit, to use before I saw the new total. I just hope that my payment goes through and my increase didn't go in too late.

We need a final count!!! CC!! woohoo! party after the ride is going to be a blast ;)

You are correct, it was a clerical error. It did not get double checked before it was sent out.:?:

Consider it as a bonus for registering early.

We will not try to recover the shortage from those who had registered before it was changed.

You are fine.....they will not charge the additional $10.

There was and error. The fee was to be increased by $5 from $115.00 to $120 for the VQ and $80 form $75 for the CC. Instead it went down to $110 and $70. As soon as the error was realized, it was corrected but not till many of us, including myself, paid the lesser price. The increased was due to the El Pollo Loco that will be served after the event rather than the food being cooked by volunteers. But just to clarify everything, the entry fee is $120 for VQ and $80 for the CC. You see, it does pay to register early. ;) See you all on the training rides.

mtnbikeJ beat me to it, the explaination on the error that is. #-o

    Let's not short-change the WS

I got in early and paid the lesser amount, but I'd be happy to send in the extra $5 since it's costing the WS more this year.

Gene (or anyone else), do you have an address to mail in the price difference?
