I wish you the best in receiving the be$t offer with graciousness.
Certainly am lead to believe you will welcome the variant benefit a larger, though minuscule wheel size increase presents for a larger rider.
Always, heard it felt pretty much like a 26er

I like the news, I should be able to get some top of the line parts for a song. I like the hype, 26 fast, 27.5 faster, 29 the bomb. Unfortunately the math does not hold true, but if you believe then it must be true
Mikee, do you use that dropper post? I never drop my seat unless I am alone in the dark and dropping into Hummingbird. Even then, if I rode it more than just once or twice a year I would stay up on top. I drop it because I am not that brave and do not want to become part of the food chain.

Whats really sad is that many bike companies are turning their 26 hard tails into...ready? Kids Bikes!
Yes, the 24" kid's mountain bike is now 26". If certain brands are still peddling the 24" then they will
soon join the bandwagon and use the 26" wheel. After all, they are still plentiful, cheap (depending the build)
    and the unwanted superfluous bounty.

I have no problem on my 26" on group rides, or solo!
I posed a question about "Is 26" dead" to The Path podcast a few months ago and it was cool that Tani, Nate and Auk talked about it -
they felt ultimately that if it's a pretty late model 26" with good geometry and it rides good for you and you like it then that's cool!
They said they still stock a lot of tires and have wheels, etc.
I'd like a 650b trailbike, eventually; my HT is 29er, but things are fine now..

Gary Fisher over 15 years ago gave up on the 26" wheel and decided 700c was the mountain wheel of choice. It was weird because
he went thru everything on his frames to try to make riding fun and foremost efficient. But the solution was right in front of his eyes, dog.' He reminds me of this cat.

When I got into the sport(2007) I bought a cheap Iron Horse Maverick and have been riding it ever since. Spending thousands on a new bike just wasn't a priority for me when I was still having a lot of fun with my existing bike. I only recently have been getting really serious into it. I even considered racing my bike. Consequently I find this old hardtail doesn't keep it. I actually do plan on buying my first full suspension bike this summer, but I will always keep my old 26'er.

Wow. I thought STR died. I stopped checking in a while ago. So happy it's back.

Just bought a 650b KHS 7200. Maiden voyage last week at oaks. I'm probably not anywhere near as skilled as most of you out on the trail but after a couple of rides, I missed my Norco Sight 26er. Had more fun on it. I dont know about speed or strava times, just subjecive fun. Maybe just havnt gotten used to the 650 yet. I sold my 29er Stumpy to get this. Hopefully a couple more rides will change my mind.

The 26 is def dead from a marketing perspective. You almost can't buy a 26 trail bike anymore. Doesn't mean it's any less fun. Love how my Norco rides.

Got $1700 for my Knolly Endorphin. I think it was a fair price. I am now down to one 26er - my DH Knolly Podium. I don't see myself getting another DH bike, as injuries, near injuries, age and lack of a proper progression facility (to learn proper jumping technique) has dampened my taste for bike-park riding or super gnar descents.

I also recently sold my beloved Knolly Chilcotin frame, wheel set, fork. It was replaced in my stable by the carbon Warden as my AM / enduro bike. For now, I've converted my Pivot 5.7C to 27.5 as my trail bike. Like Herzalot, my only remaining 26er is my DH bike (Canfield Jedi).

I am in the process of stripping my Kona Stinky, I already pulled off the fork, wheels, brakes, stem, etc. The frame and other stuff will be posted on eBay.
It was sure fun but things change and you have to go along with change. 650b, 29er and a touring bike now. Very sad, but not as sad as Trump, Hillary and an old man thats not giving up.
