Last night was a typical OTB ride... united nations of cycling (Five continents represented), and generations of riders. I rode to the trailhead and climbed Las Flores in the afternoon with spectacular views of the city below, descended South Beaudry, and hooked up with the rest (about 12 riders) of the OTB Crew for out-and-back ride on Beaudry Canyon. Garo had ridden from his home on the other side of the mountains. Julio brought his son Andrew on his first "evening" ride: Andrew, 7.5, and Garo, 75 years young: LA has mountains: Learning to Descend: Dale at 65 is a self-professed: Dale brought his old Kanondale Klunker, the only bike I know with Four on the Floor! Two chainrings, two cogs, and you change gears by reaching down with your hand: Edmond... too fast for the camera: The descent was a high-speed DH fireroad "explore-the-limits-of-traction" race down the mountain. Good times in the local mountains.
me four... He came out and did the Chilao Loop with us yesterday (Saturday). Pretty cool to see him out on the singletrack, body armor strapped to his pack.
I was up there this evening, peddled up Beaudry South, popped open a can and enjoyed the sunset. Got back to the car---surprise! No break-in. But its like 99.9% of the time that you would not get broken into. The Beaudry North Loop is an easy ride and one newbies should do before tackling others in the San Gabs. BTW-Kanga did you guys do the E.C. on the way down the south fireroad?
The group did just an out and back on North Beaudry, three climbed South Beaudry instead. Garo rode from his home in Burbank up Stough Canyon and met the group. I rode from my home to the trailhead and up Las Flores Motorway, down south Beaudry to meet the group. Lots of variations.
