Has anyone come across this interface/lock on an XO1 cassette? There's only 1 solid tab to grab on, and it appears (to my untrained eyes) the splines are all sheared off. It does not look right to me, and can't find much online. Is there a special tool for this, or is it messed up?

    Thanks B.

    That's all messed up.
Only way to fix it is to buy a new bike.

I have all the tools you posted a link for, but nothing for the lock ring tool to catch on but that 1 block or notch...

So, it looks like the cassette is stuck with the free-hub body forever :(

    Thanks.

The Park FR5 is the correct tool.......the splines are deeper down than traditional cassettes.

If your cassette tool is old, it may not be deep enough to reach the splines. The Shimano Casssette Lockring tool might work better

I'm no Bike Mechanic, but since this is an X01 cassette with the XD driver, do the normal cassette lockring tools work for it? since it's a different freehub body, does it use something else to lock it on?

"by hard riding," I assume the guy means 200 miles of coping grinds on the cassette. Or maybe underwater? Or maybe the guy hasn't heard of chain lube?

The splines on mine broke off and it looked a lot like the OPs picture. I had to destroy the cassette to get the freehub off. Luckily the cassette was covered by warranty. Use LOTS of grease when installing XX1/X01 cassettes.

Take it to your LBS, they are likely to have more sway with SRAM.
