I've noticed that quite recently El Moro is closed while Aliso is open.

Is there any sense to this? Or is the State simply keeping their trails closed longer now that Santiago fire has increased the pressure on the remaining trails??

    Enquiring minds want to know...

Maybe it's still closed due to trail conditions (from the rain 2 days ago)? :?:

    An interesting question, grasshopper...

El Moro has always closed at the slightest drop of rain and remained closed while other parks such as Aliso have opened. Rangers can't really give a good explanation. All I know is that if someone spits too much, they close the park! The rangers really liked it 15-20 years ago when nobody visited the park.

Aliso is Open according to the phone recording.

    El Morro is not.

It was a perfect day out in that area today.

Historically El Moro has always been this way. I'm not sure if it's within their guidelines or possibly a request by the surrounding community but it 'always' opens later than any other park in O.C. even if it's a sprinkle a few days before.

Well, I hope it's open tomorrow... that's where I plan to end my ride. \\:D/
Maybe an alternate to the main gate is in order?
