Why Enduro is the Best Format for MtB Racing

This sounds like an epic sunday morning ride.

 

Sure, we can just climb mathis to get there. It will be like our own Whistler Enduro with grueling elevation.

 

I'd do that ride! (Or try to. )

 

So what are some local enduro races that I could sign up for just to try out this year? I know of the California Enduro Series, but that's the only one that I know of (nor is it really local to SoCal with only 1 race being in Mammoth). While I did two of OC Classic's races last year, and I'm planning on doing all four this year, I don't think XC is my style of racing. So I'd like to try out Enduro, but I'm not sure of any local series. In theory, I think that style of racing is much more of what I do every weekend; I pedal up hills to earn my downhills.

Any thoughts?

 

I did a OC Classic event last year and didn't think it was my style of racing/riding either. Great organizers and event none the less!

Im planning on trying out either the SoCal Enduro Series, PCA Enduro, or Southridge USA Super D this year.

Check out the ones in Vail Lake put on by SoCal Endurance the Sunday after the 12-hour event. 1st one is Feb. 1st. They sold out last year for November, so register ahead of time. Can't pre-ride the day before because about 1/2 of the various routes are also used by the 12-hour racers.
