If i ever see some you'll know - i'll be ranting on about how i'm going to age it in a cedar-lined, constantly 55 degree cellar for 10 years... Last time I saw that locally was 4-5 years ago. Bevmo got some in for some odd reason, and they had it on the shelf for a few days...after a while they kept it in the back, so no one knew that they had any (brilliant business model...). For i know it's still back there.

With a deep burgundy color and aromas of honey, nutmeg, mandarin orange and pineapple, this massive and challenging brew has flavors akin to a beautiful Carribean rum. Dates, plums, raisins and molasses are dominant in a rich vinous texture. Cellarable for 10+ years. 16.4%:clap::clap::clap: get cha sum at Bevmo
You're drinking that at 10:00am! Damn dude - you're hard core! I was going to wait for the first sub 60 degree night to crack mine open . :bang:
I saw this at BevMo last night - anybody tried it yet? I ended up with this - for my first fall Blackstar climb: and this:
Yeah, from what i hear it disappeared pretty fast from just about everywhere. The brewery may still have some though...guess i'll have to mount an expedition to find out...and i agree, it was pretty great! Has anyone seen the bottles of the Stone-Alesmith-Mikkeller Belgian Trippel outside of the brewery? That was one tasty beer too...
I had a Lagunitas Sirius special release high-gravity cream ale last night. I was very impressed. After the second one even Sarah Palin started making sense.
i was in portland last weekend and had a couple different full sails (hood river). nice... EDIT- also, i had my first stella art. it tasted like heiniken, which i don't really like. but it's (stella) still my favorite beer name. sounds classy...
I did the Stone tour like a month and half ago and I asked them about it. Had 2 plattes of it sitting in their warehouse, said they weren't sure if they would going to distribute it and if they were had no idea to who and how much. But you are right it is good stuff.
sipping right now (gulp, just finished!) went to the goat for lunch and sampled the linup; anderson valley IPA(hop ottin'), arrogant bastard, rouge red, bear republic racer5, guinness stout, hey, this was not by myself!! anyways swung by bevmo across the street (don't worry we had a dd) and picked up some PP wipeout IPA (my new favorite) and the aformentioned stone belgium. wow is that some tasty suds or what??
No bottles, but Library Ale House in Santa Monica has it on tap. Interesting brew. Weird to taste that level of hoppiness in a Belgian style ale.
I've had a few glasses of Milton Park Shiraz that someone left at our house after a party last weekend. I'm a beer drinker normally but the more of this wine I drink, the better it tastes :drunk:
