Big thanks to Ken (kdog4130) and Jonathan over at Jax for officially coming on board as a supporter here. They really want to encourage people to get out riding (me included 8-[) and becoming more active the community which led Jax to sponsoring The Trailhead Forum. Be on the lookout for Jax rides and events in the near future.

Bonus: Jax is doing 15% off for all STR members so don't be shy about paying them a visit.

I didn't know they had a MTB stuff. Is there more than one location? The one in HB seems to have only beach cruisers and a couple hybrids/road bikes.

True, some of our stores have more MTB stuff than others......Fullerton is well stocked along with some of our other stores. Some stores focus on Road other than MTB, but overall it's 50/50.

That's an awesome discount. Looking forward to making my first visit. How's the Murrieta store? I think that's the closest to me, though far enough to be inconvenient and would need to justify the trip down. Any good trails within riding distance of the store? I heard they do weekly group rides, so if there is, riding a new trail would make the trip worth it if I happen to leave empty handed from the store.

    3 things:

    1) Thank you for the support! You guys took care of me with a quick fix at OTH in 2010, and I will always be grateful since it allowed me to race that day. That's why I am a semi-patron of the Yorba Linda store.

    2) Please stock more MTB parts at Yorba Linda. Yesterday I went in looking for a 35mm non-QR seat post collar. To my surprise, they don't sell ANY collars! I know you can't stock your inventory for avid cyclist like other shops, but just a few more part available would be nice.

    3) Please make sure all your staff knows about the 15% STR discount. After I realized you didn't have any seat collars, I purchased a set of leg warmers since I was there. I asked for my STR discount, and the sales guy told me they don't offer one. Since it was only a $20 item, I figured there was a learning curve with the new STR sponsorship, so I let it go.

Happy new Year, and thanks again!

The discount is still good, and does not have an end date! Just follow the link on the banner and print out your coupon.

Yes, there are weekly Thursday Night MTB rides through Meadow View/French Valley trails. It's a Riverside County version of the Fullerton Loop, although some parts can be technical. About 5-15 guys come out each week.

And we have weekly road rides on Saturday morning. About 20-40 riders each week.

We post our local rides on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...ages/Jax-Bicycle-Center-Murrieta/180601715199

Otherwise, if you want some all-mountain riding, we should set up a ride in Hemet on Transcontinental Trail, starting at Simpson Park. Very nice!

The 15% definitely is tempting. I might have to take a stroll into the Mission Viejo shop sometime soon! Of course - those quick "drop ins" are dangerous to my wallet..
