It's a bit of a drive for you but out here in San Berdno there is a place called 'Aero-tanks' located on Sierra Way. They do custom tanks, not sure if they can modify existing tanks.

Sorry, don't have a number for you

My neighbor does this for a living and he does really good work but he's in Castaic. It is kind of far from you but I'm sure the price will be good.

Too bad I didn't join this site earlier. I've had all of the Ujoint SAS parts in my garage, including the D60 and Sterling 10.5 sitting at my house for 4 years now (since before Chris moved to the East Coast). I had an '04 V-10 E350 ready for the conversion, just ran out of time and money. I'm hoping to get another van in the future to do this to.

The rig is looking good! Hope you find someone to finish it up for you soon.

+1 for Aero Tanks. I used them for both of my Bronco rebuilds - two tank conversion upped the capacity to 34 gallons. I had to do some very minor fitting but otherwise it was perfect. Good Luck - http://www.aerotanks.com/vehicles/ford.html

    Thanks for the link!
Heading up to SB in the morning so they can check the van out, since they've never done one yet.
but initial phone estimates are just a couple hundred more than the fabricator and I can get a custom tank made and installed without losing any capacity.
    Sweet!

Chris now makes a replacement tank... 39 gal capacity, aluminum, powdercoated... it's really sweet, but damn! he has priced them at $1400 plus shipping here to SoCal [$200]

Have your tried calling junkyards? Maybe they have an OEM tank for your van? I know there's a ford junkyard in placentia. Here's the number (714) 993-2110.

I love how you stuck to it. Most people would of put the rims and tires on it and just talk about doing the rest.

That was me with my Ranger. Wheels and tires, dreams of pre-runnering it out. I even did grunt work at my friend's fabrication shop so I could pick his brain and improve my skills. Sadly, money went other places, never did anything more than a custom tube bumper and skid plate. Finally sold it.

I love this van. I can't wait to see more done.

Thanks for the shout out coffeespecial!

Sounds like you've got it handled. Although, if you do need anything local, I own the best damn fab shop in South County.

Good luck. Those projects are fun.

Thank you again guys for the suggestion and link to Aero Tanks!
So for $970 I got a custom fuel tank made with a skid plate, installation, fuel from my old tank transferred and disposal of the old tank.
tank is 45gals, 10 more than stock :bang:
problem now is the cost of refueling an empty tank! #-o

plenty of room now for the t-case!
just waiting on my manual t-case shifter assembly then off to the transmission shop for the last part of the conversion!
Hoping it will get done by July 4th weekend as I have plans to take it to Brianhead and Gooseberry.

I love project threads, although I prefer to find them when they're done so I don't have to wait!

    It's worse for you I'm sure. :)
