Last Friday Aviatrix and her kids joined us for our ride in El Moro. This is the video from that ride,

They also made it out today and we did Ticketron and then up Deer Canyon and out, wasn't able to get much video today but little Nora is going to be one heck of a rider in couple years. She is following in my daughter Ryan's footsteps of riding everything one her single speed coaster brake bike, just wait until she get some gears.

Next week we will be going out to Santiago Oaks on Wednesday @ 4:00pm hopefully we will see some more families out there with us.

When Jeff says "rode" he really means "walked, pushed, whined" our way up Deer. At least my kids did....Jeff's kids are troopers!!!

If you have kids I highly recommend these rides. Having the younger, less experienced kids see the older ones charge-it you won't believe what your kids will try. Ryan is the cutest riding coach I've ever seen.

We'll see you at Oaks next week!

Oh, and Jeff you better have given Ryan that extra dollar you owed her for cleaning that last tough uphill! ;)

We'll try and make the ride on the 28th. Thanks for the video of the last El Moro trip (just saw it)....we went riding when we were up in Eureka and my dad couldn't believe how the kids did the whole freaking ride. Especially Nora on her coaster brake SS. She hung right in there. I credit it to doing these kids rides.

Does someone post these upcoming rides on the calendar? I'd like to take my 11 year old daughter out on these rides, but she's definitely a beginner. Also any info on the routes you take? Thanks in advance!

I think Jeff just updates this thread. I'm sure your daughter would be fine on this ride. My kids are 5, and 7, and VERY conservative. Not sure what Jeff has planned for Oaks, but at El Moro the last ride we did was 3.8 miles, 600 ft climbing, and riding time was 52 minutes.

Tomorrow will be through the lower stuff in IRP to Chutes, up Chutes, then see how the kids are at the top, if they are good it is on to the flagpole if not then it is back down Chutes. The more advanced kids can go down Chutes Ridgeline.

Hey Trance, join us anytime and we will stay on trails that your daughter can ride. The learning curve is greatly reduced when they ride with other kids who can show them how it is done (they listen to each other more than to us.)
