Where to ride when the parks are closed? Maybe Laguna Open Space. Lynn and I started off Hilldise Road and climbed Aliso Crest Trail to Pacific Island Road. Then dropped down to Toovet Trail and returned back the same way.

I love Southern California! Snow and pine trees Saturday and the Pacific Ocean Sunday can't beat that.

Where is the trail head? I live near the area and ride Aliso a lot, but I need a place to ride now while I wait for the trails to dry out. Any info would be helpful..

We started at Aliso Summit Trail, look up the hill and you will see a service road...the gate is long gone. Parked corner of Highlands Ave and Ridgeview. Took that gravel service road all the way up to where it comes out on Pacific Island Road then pavement to the end of Talavera Road to the right of the gated entrance is a trail that goes out to a overlook. Look down from the overlook and you will see the rest of the route. We rode down it but had too HAB the last half coming back...it is steep.

In the picture with Lynn looking back down the hill. Toovet is the trail to the left and to the right a unmarked trail partially rideable then HAB to a excellent 180 degree view up and down the coast. After that Y in the trail you are very close to both of those trails ending. You can take Toovet down to a water tank access road and down to Coast Highway. There is a third trail at the Y to the left that has a no bikes sign that is Valido Trail that takes you to West Street in South Laguna.

wow. that's just so ugly, dean. i would really hate that majestic view of the pacific while i rode my bike. it's so hideous it's almost distracting.
